Great Reel! Unbeatable IMO
This reel is amazing. Like stated very minimal backlash even for a beginner. Extremely easy setup. The breaking system is unmatched. Was able to cast with relative easy and no back lash. Love it so much adding the 7.1 megaJaws to the collectionEdit‐ I am hooked. Great reel. Went from newbie to very confident and rarely pick up any of my spinning rods. With that said if you are coming from spinning rods stay away from the 9.1 red reel as your first as the ratio is just way to fast. Bought it as my first thinking a faster reel would benefit me but it's hard to control presentations of slower baits. Its more of a specialty rod. Topwater, jerk, and deep diving crankbaits. I have sense add all four of the megajaws to my collection.7.1 is good swimbait can be used for slower presentations but I few the 6.1 Green one if you could only have one is the best bang for buck. A do it all reel. Either way you can not go wrong

Looks and performs great
Beatiful red, great features, and even sports a full set of teeth! LOLExcellent braking system and 9.1:1 reels in the bait lightning fast.I bought a Berkley Cherrywood MH rod because it completes the candy red rig as seen in the pics.

Seems good for the money
Hate to leave a review before using but initial observations...(all based on cost $64)Very attractiveSmooth retrieveFeels well builtComfortable handles (ordered the cork handle but got the black rubber type which was a plus)Drag feels very strong and smoothWish both brake options were adjustable (only 1)Line guide (on worm gear) seems to have excessive play in it....time will tell.Nice spool holds sufficient line 20# FirelineThe drain port is nice as is the oil access port.Overall 1st impression, it's worth the price.I recently purchased a quantum energy pt s3 for $111 and the megajaws is definitely not of tge same quality and precision but still a good value.

Very smooth
The first time I ordered this I was sent someone else's returned reel, it was a used 1st gen megajaws. The company made it right, accepted the return and got me the right one 2 days later. This is not a bullet proof 400$ Diawa, but for this cost, good luck finding a better more reliable salt ready reel. The dual brake system in this will give confidence to those guys who have tried a baitcaster before and gave up to go back to a spinner (me) it will still backlash, but only if you whip it as hard as you can and leave the spool free when it hits the water. And the backlash won't be more than one to two rotations of the reel. It really is amazing how well the magnetic brake works on this thing. Some of the pieces on it feel like graphite, which isn't the best material because it can warp in prolonged direct sunlight. But I've used this for a couple months in the Florida sun while bass fishing and I'm impressed. It's my go to rod. I have some high quality Lew's and a 300$ Abu Garcia combo, and oddly enough you'll see me holding my kastking combo more often. Very smooth, good strong drag, holds about 120ish yards of Berkeley 20lb florocarbon line. Came pre greesed and oiled.

Handle comes loose
Functionality of the reel is good but after 2 uses the handle comes loose. Took it apart. Put it back together. Tight for one use and got loose again.
