Heavy and good quality cast iron....after washing very little water rust comes unlike iron kadai gets too much rusty after washing, which goes away after wiping. This is the sign of pure cast iron (non stick iron).

The media could not be loaded. This pan was on my bucket list since long. The benefits are that there is no chemical coating on it yet it is quite non stick if used properly. A bit of iron gets into our food naturally making the dishes healthier. The food cooks evenly with a uniform distribution of heat which reduces the cooking time a bit. You can switch off the gas when the dish is 85-90% done as the latent heat takes care of rest of the cooking.To prevent the pan from rusting, dry it after washing and spray a little oil and wipe it.I have cooked many veggies in it,even fried eggs.
