Veterinary Formula Hot Spot & Itch Shampoo - Medicated - 16 oz, 2-Pack

I am a professional groomer of 30 plus years. This product is the only one I found that actually works, gives the dogs relief. I'm saddened to say they stopped making it in the gallon so I need to buy these small containers but I have to, nothing else compares. They have a 3 pc set. The conditioner makes dogs feel like silk. And the spray is for in between your grooming. But if you can only afford 1 definitely get the shampoo. Work it in for the full 10 minutes.

This stuff really helps soothe hot spots. I’ve been using the Hot Spot Shampoo and Conditioner on my dog, and it’s made a noticeable difference. The shampoo lathers well and doesn’t smell harsh, and the conditioner leaves her coat soft without irritation. After a few washes, the red, itchy spots looked calmer and didn’t flare up as badly. It’s gentle, easy to use, and actually seems to give relief — not just cover up the smell. If your dog gets irritated spots or itchy skin, this helped us more than the regular dog shampoos I’ve tried. Highly recommend 👌

I have a dog taking Apoquel for allergies and itching, however, she still scratches endlessly unless she also has frequent baths. This shampoo has been the best I have used so far to control the itch and provide some relief. It’s also a good price point given its effectiveness.

Update: Writing this two days after the second bath - itchy red skin is gone!! Want to add that this shampoo lathers up very well and has no odor/smell. Game changer - dog has been super itchy; happens this time of year but it's worse now. Trying to avoid getting her a shot from the vet. OTC allergy med wasn't cutting it, so I ordered this as a last-ditch effort. Bathed her once, let the shampoo sit on her for ten minutes, then rinsed. After, we used the brand's hot spray. Provided some relief. Second day, shampooed again. Dramatic relief. Thank you thank you thank you!! Will keep using the shampoo nearly daily during this season.

Good value for the price. It is way cheaper than buying a product with similar ingredients at the vet. There’s no scent.

Our poor chocolate lab developed allergies rapidly at the end of last summer. We took her to the vet twice where she received steroid shots. After reading some of these reviews, we were really expecting a miracle. We followed the directions, but didn't see the results we were hoping for. After two weeks of living in a cone, a friend recommended we talk to our vet about getting a Rx for Zenrelia. That did it! Veterinary Formula may work for dogs with mild allergies, but not our dog. This shampoo smells good and it cleans well, but it did not relieve the itch when used as directed.
