DO NOT BUY!
Load of rubbish freedb which is used for album tagging as of 31/3/20 no longer exists, can't find any information regarding if there will be a firmware update. Have been on cocktail audio forum's nothing mentioned has most of the posts are 2 to 4 years old. Ripped 4 CDs and tried to add metadata myself, the flac music files all uploaded to a SD card but not in order just randomly mixed together, also tried quite a few tagging apps of which not one of them managed to retrieve any artwork or data. So basically LEAVE WELL ALONE.

OK for the price
I bought this to rip my CD collection to FLAC format to use with an Astell & Kern player. I was looking for the A&K version but that was both expensive and it seems virtually unobtainable. This was a much cheaper version. It works OK, but the interface is glitchy and a bit clunky. It has an irritating habit of losing files! So, given the price it's OK, but not that good.

Ingenious piece of kit
Great piece of kit converting my entire cd collection to flac files will be time consuming but if you want to hear music as it should be heard instead of stripped down mp3 files then the cocktail mini x9 is definitely the way to goI had a few teething issues at first mostly due to my own ignorance but the guys at cocktail sorted me out by immediately answeing my questions via email

FLAC me just what I needed.
I looked at a similar product a while back but it only ripped to MP3 which was no good to me as I use FLAC files for digital storage. Then lo and behold I found this and it is just what I was looking for. It's a faff having to connect by LAN rather than wifi but the item is built for a price and yes I would like it if free db also had album artwork. However for the price I paid and for the fact it does the main function I ordered it for then I give it five stars.I even had a pleasant surprise when the price was discounted when I came to buy it. Thanks Amazon.

No relative of the X10 et.al.
Don't buy this until you have used an X10 or better an X12. It relies on AA batteries, Is not compatible with Windows or NTFS. A pruned down version of the X10 would have been good but this is not that! OK if you run a Linux system but even then you will have spagetti everywhere.

No longer working as advertised
Unfortunately, FreeDB which the device uses to look up track names has been discontinued. Despite several attempts to contact Cocktail Audio, they've given no indication of any plans to offer an alternative. As such, this device doesn't do what the blurb says. Leave alone.

CD to Mp3 Converter
Good, it's not that quick but does the job without the faff of doing it through a computer.

Doesn't work at all and no support from the company.
I couldn't get this machine to work. It wouldn't even eject, I had to push in the override button on the front just to eject the CD tray. When I did get a CD in the machine it wouldn't do anything. I tried contacting the company and got no response. I wouldn't recommend this machine because I just wasted $220.00 for nothing.
