Phenomenal, with storage and screen aside, what more could you really want...
I was one of the lucky ones who managed to get this from an Amazon Fulfilled Seller at £580. Half expecting there to be something wrong with the purchased model, I remained skeptical.Except there was nothing to be skeptical about. The premium build is the most stunning thing about it. I've had it two months and I could easily pass it off as a couple of days old. It simply does not age. Not only is the material choice excellent, but it is extremely thin and light for what it contains. I'm a student and I needed a laptop to replace my 2 year old HP Sleekbook 6 (15 inch screen). The difference in bag space this has allowed me is like day and night. Sometimes, I'm worried that its not even in there, but it always is.Naturally, I'll move onto the other hardware. The screen is somewhat a slight disappointment. Initially I was pleasantly suprised by the brightness the 1366x768 pixel screen offered but the low resolution is noticeable. Of course here I'm being picky but if you're used to high resolutions on smartphones (I own an LG G2) then you will notice this. However, taking the incredible battery life on this laptop into consideration, I am allowing this compromise. The battery life is another area where this laptop excels. I can confidently take this laptop to school and work on it in most lessons using WiFi without needing to charge. Therefore I tend to leave my charger at home and charge it every night. This is probably one of the biggest selling points of this laptop. It puts to rest the worries that you'll run out of battery in the middle of something important.Although I am yet to run into problems relating to storage, I cannot help that the 128GB SSD is not going to last me all too long. With a fast growing iTunes library containing FLACs and WAVs, I'd imagine that I won't have much longer before I'll need to consider an SSD upgrade. However, I have a game plan. Transcend currently sell 240GB SSDs for around £150, or 480GB SSDs for around £250. Although Apple offer 256GB versions of the MacBook Air for a couple of hundred pounds more, I think that doing the upgrade yourself is not only financially beneficial but also not too hard to accomplish. Moreover, as a result of the upgrade you can use the old internal 128GB SSD as an external drive for backups. The rest of the features aside, I am now going to talk about the software that this computer runs. If moving from Windows, you're going to have to learn a few things but this is not at all a difficult task. To some extent, OS X facilitates most of what you'd do on a PC. Most (if not all) of the apps you'd use on the PC are available on Mac and some (iTunes, Microsoft Office, Spotify) work much better. Apple's offerings of Pages, Keynote, Numbers, iPhoto, iMovie and Garageband are welcomed, and are regularly updated through the App Store. The only issue I have encountered with the software is the ecosystem it forces you into. As an owner of an Android device (LG G2) out of choice, I do miss out on the new Continuity and Handoff features offered by the new software. Although not an issue for me, it is worth noting that to make full use of such features, owning solely Apple devices is a necessity. As I have already said, since this machine is my primary computer and is used for work and maintaining a music library, this is not an issue for me. It is also very easy to get it to communicate well with my Android device and the Google services. I have my whole iTunes library backed up to Google Play Music for free in real time, and I have a sync application for my LG G2 for my music. I have no intent on getting an iPhone for this reason, since everything 'just works' even without the other Apple products.A final thing I'd like to add was something that I had not thought of at the time of purchase. Having just given my desktop PC to my sister, I was able to use the Thunderbolt port to connect the MacBook Air through to my Denon Amplifier to my speakers and display. This allows me to use my MacBook as a desktop computer connected to my sound system. This was with the added bonus that my files were always with me wherever I was.So yes, you should buy this. If you are considering any Windows laptop around £400-£600 pounds, stop what you are doing and get this. I feel I KNOW this machine will last me for a long time. With the screen and storage issues aside, this laptop is unbeatable for price. The build quality is incredible compared to similarly priced Windows laptops. Although I am prejudiced against Apple for their ridiculously priced iPhones, I will admit that their computers are unbeatable. I would not hesitate to buy this again.

Defective
I purchased this laptop to help with my school work as well as to browse the internet and to watch Netflix/YouTube etc. It was important to me to find a laptop in a reasonably quick time in order to help revise and complete assignments. On receiving this product, at first glance everything was fine. Other than the battery life everything was working well, screen undamaged, keyboard working, little to no scratch marks and dents. But after one day use, I came home to see that the screen was flashing a black file with a question mark. On turning the laptop off and attempting to turn the laptop on again in recovery mode, the screen appeared only black. The laptop was unresponsive. I called Apple Support who told me that the laptop was unsalvagable and damaged beyond repair.Unfortunately I have spend over €500 on a defective product and I am currently in the process of getting a refund.Very disappointing!

Not an Apple fan boy, but this laptop is impressive.
I'm a web developer and computers are basically what I do. And because of that I've never been a fan boy exclusively for either Microsoft or Apple, but I do see the pros and cons of each as I work on both Windows and OS X and code/design websites on both platforms. However, the new generation of Apple laptops seems to be a unique breed. I reluctantly took the plunge and ordered this computer for my dear wife, whose old Mac retired 2 years ago and she has been using a second hand Windows laptop since. The main reason I went the Mac route for her is that the amount of frustration she often encountered with her Acer laptop, and I frankly wanted something to make her happy (*considering she always raved about how great Macs are... - and I sceptically mumbled inaudibly pretending to agree) and above all save us the constant repair costs and my several attempts of fixing the system. So far, the Mac Air has proved to be a reliable little beast. Beautiful in design and quite fast considering its medium range CPU and RAM. The Mrs is quite happy with it and she's currently using it ALL THE TIME for her study. Of course, if you love working in bed...it's definitely what you need. The design is very sleek, and the machine weighs ....well, it's very very light to the extent that you can shove it in your bag and almost never notice it's there. To my surprise - as mentioned earlier - considering its physical size the performance is impressive; very smooth in transition and quite quick. For those who want a laptop that looks and performs great, and on top of that see portability as a high priority. That Mac Air 11" is the way to go.By the way, don't be discouraged by the apparently small sized laptop, you'll discover that it's big enough for pretty much every daily task. Unless of course you're a designer or like to watch videos on a large screen. Having said that, the laptop comes with a thunderbolt slot, which -with a cheap adapter can - be hooked to an external monitor. The Mrs. occasionally connects her Mac to a Samsung 23" monitor whenever she wants to do some design work. Runs brilliantly on multiple screens, and neither the resolution nor the performance gets compromised - thanks to improved CPU/RAM and the intelligently written Apple operating system.Last points:1. The computer almost never produces any noticeable heat. But bear in mind that if you like using it on you lap, it's recommended - like all laptops - that you use a small book or its own case (a laptop sleeve/case is highly recommended) to rest the machine on.2. Fan noise is almost non-existent3. Comes with Maverick operating system. Yosemite is out now, but I recommend that you don't upgrade your OS until the new version has stabilized, there's still many complaints about Yosemite.4. Battery life is about 8 hours of average using. If you only type (study or something) it could last way more than that. And it takes about 1.5 hrs to charge fully from zero.5. The sound...ah well, I was surprised it was loud enough for such a small laptop. For those who want a laptop that performs well, and live long enough with the least amount of system fiddling, this one is definitely for you. I understand the price is a bit steep, but I do think it's worth it actually. In the long run it'll pay off.5.

Lightweight and easy to use
This laptop is very sleek looking with its alluminium body. Sleek design and nice keyboard. The Mac OS is very easy to use and find your way around.

Bad delivery, US not UK version, very disappointed.
Delivery company were a nightmare, left instructions to deliver next door if nobody was in, instead they some how dropped it over a 6 foot fence. Also VERY disappointed that it is an American version and will refuse to chance spell check to UK English not US, and there is only a $ key, no GBP. For this price very very disappointed with the product I have received.
