I liked this History book as it requires all the major information that the person i bought it for requires, also it was in very good condition and i was very satisfied with it, it was bought as a Christmas Present

Love the layout and design, it's really well written and it's clear! It's not in colour like the bigger versions but I don't mind.

My son is studying history A level and loves this book. Plenty of very interesting information which is well laid.

Useful primer and given the price it wasn't surprising that the paper was cheap and there were only black and white illustrations. I actually ordered it to help write a quiz. In many respects I would prefer a more expensive book which adheres to the normal quality of DK publications (colour photos etc).

I really enjoyed this book. It gives you brief information on important times through history like the French Revolution. I liked the fact that I could dip in and out of pages that interested me. I've deducted a star because I felt that the text was very small and tightly packed on to each page. It would have been an easier read if it was set out in a less compact manner.

This is an exciting and beautifully designed guide to world history from the earliest times to the present. After an illuminating introduction there are five sections on 'Ancient Civilisations'(6000BCE - 500CE); 'The Mediaeval World'(500 - 1492); 'The Early Modern Era'(1420 - 1795); 'Changing Societies'(1776 - 1914) & 'The Modern World'(1914 - Present). History is often taught in a partial and fragmentary manner but this clearly written, engrossing book(a compact version of 'The History Book') provides a coherent and balanced chronological overview.

I don’t like reading too often, it’s bores me in a lot of ways. Though, I thought i would try this book and wow! It blow me away. The illustrations, way it’s formatted, small size and informative pages. LOVED IT
