It's about the sound quality
That's funny, I never reviewed this crossover though I bought it and ended up really liking it. Along with it I bought a 4 channel Rockford Punch amp, Soundstream line level converter and Pioneer component speakers that I installed in my Nissan Altima. I was really pleased with the sound, using the Orion to crossover the fronts, then all four channels of the punch amp to drive them. Really nice open sound stage. But later I bought matching 6 x 9 Pioneer speakers for the back deck, and needed 2 channels of amplification to run them. So I took out the Orion and ran 2 channels of the amp to the Pioneer crossovers instead. Then the other 2 channels for the new 6 x 9's. But without the Orion, the sound took a downgrade in quality. The Pioneer crossovers gave the fronts some extra brightness and less sound quality. And the 6 x 9's really didn't add anything for the overall sound like I thought they would.End of day, I'm going to buy an extra amp so I can put this Orion back into the system. It really sounds great on front components. If anyone is thinking about this unit, with fronts it's a no brainer.

Could be better....
I just installed this crossover a couple of weeks ago and I have all Orion components: sub, amps, and component speakers. All of my Orion stuff is top quality except this crossover. One of the buttons to turn off/on the channels got stuck the very first time I used it. Took me a while to get the button unstuck and never dared to try that button again. Also when you push anynof the buttons, all the buttons recess because it looks like the motherboard is being strained when you push the button. Additionally I have a 4-channel amp where I want to crossover front and back at the same frequency and this can't be done; the way crossover only can crossover front channels in high frequency, rear channels in mid range frequency, etc. The instructions are worthless as well. Only positive is that the sound quality is really good. It's cheap, but in this case you get what you pay for. Going to go with audio control instead next..

Orion XTR top of the line...
I really like this Orion crossover. It's a very good quality and it looks great in person. It does its job very well with high sound quality. The connections are great. Mounting options are flexible. The sellar worked with me well on it. Very fast shipping. I had an small issue with something and the seller was very prompt and communicative on fixing the problem. Super fast response time. It was a pleasure purchasing this Orion crossover from them. I really like looking at it. It makes me happy and smile.

No necessary to buy.
The remote switch does not really control the subwoofer to absolute zero. Disconnected completely. Never needed to buy it.
