I'm doing boil in a 42 qt pot how much "juice" should i use? i have always used old bay +lemons in the past.

Hi there, Below are the package instructions. ~ Erica For a dozen crabs or 5 pounds of shrimp or crawfish: 1. In a large pot add 2.5 quarts of water and 5 tablespoons of salt. Bring to a rolling boil. 2. Add seafood and 1 tablespoon Zatarain's Liquid Crab Boil. Return to a boil and then turn off heat (crabs, need to boil for 2-5 minutes depending on size before turning off heat.) Allow seafood to soak: Shrimp 2-5 minutes; Crawfish 30 minutes. Crabs 30 minutes. 3. Drain carefully and serve. TIPS 1. Adding 2 tablespoons of vinegar to cooking water makes crabs easier to pick. 2. Crab Boil and salt level may be varied to taste. 3. The longer the soak time the spicier the flavor. 4. For different quantities of seafood scale up or down the proportions

No sodium in the liquid boil. Their dry mix is full of salt. Typically you use both (and possibly their boil bags) for a boil.

If you only use one seasoning on your crawfish, it better be this.

I've been using Zatarain's liquid crab boil for about 50 years. Other than salt, it's the single most important seasoning in a crawfish (or shrimp) boil. It's wickedly hot (don't get it in your eyes), but it's the best seafood seasoning out there. I use it along with the Zatarain's boil that comes in the boxes/bags, for perfect flavor. The other liquid boils aren't the same; don't be deceived.
