VICHY Dercos Dandruff Shampoo, Antifungal Itchy Scalp Treatment

For context: I have very oily scalp and very dry ends. Like if I don't wash my hair in 3 days, my scalp gets really stinky and my roots flat. I also have very long hair that reaches down to my butt. The problem with the shampoos I've used before is that they clean my scalp really good but then leave my hair especially the ends dry and rough. I developed this big and crusty flakes that caused redness in my scalp and every time I scratch, I would scrape off chunks of build ups. Also, even after a thorough wash when I scratch my scalp, tiny flakes would come off. It was so bad so I tried everything from heavily medicated anti dandruff shampoos, Head and shoulders, dove, salon/ professional grade shampoos, nothing would work. They would either make my scalp so dry and tight? and my hair so lifeless and DRY!! Nothing helped with the flakiness, the oiliness and persistent itching till I used this product. It has a scent to it but nothing overpowering. I wash my hair 2-3x a week focusing on my scalp, and I also use a scalp massager/ shampooing brush. I use just enough to make a really good lather (this product lathers very good) and I make sure to let it sit for 2-5 minutes before rinsing it off with lukewarm water. I also make sure to dry my scalp and hair really good and not go to sleep with wet hair!! I've been using this product for a month now and I just can't thank this product enough for fixing my scalp. No more small flakes, no more chunky yucky build up, no more itch and redness!! I also notice that my hair doesn't dry out at all, and my scalp feel clean but not stripped. Pros: Nondrying to scalp and hair No offensive scent Lathers very good Totally worked for me!! Con It honestly quite expensive but it's worth it!!

Amazing!! I have thick curly 3c (ethnic) hair and I’ve always been able to go a week without washing my hair. A year ago I noticed a sour scalp smell that would start around day 2. I blow out my hair so this was not sustainable because it takes 2 hours to dry and style. Vichy made the sour smell go away after 1 use. I wash and rinse and repeat twice. Letting the last shampoo sit on the scalp for 10 mins. No odor. I’m back to washing my hair when it looks bad, but even at day 7.. no sour smell! I am in love! Waiting on the larger size to come back in stock so I can purchase before I run out. Also, the product smells good. It has a unisex smell. It didn’t dry out my hair. And my hair is extra shiny. The smaller bottle does last a while but my hair is long and thick so I prefer the bigger bottle since this is the only product that’s worked.

Best shampoo on the market if you have dry hair and seborrheic dermatitis! I’ve been using this for about a year, and it has completely changed my scalp. No more constant flakes or itching. One thing I’ve noticed is that over time it can make my hair feel a little oily, and you may not get that super-clean feeling after washing. But honestly, I’d rather deal with a little oiliness than a flaky, itchy scalp! I recommend using another shampoo about once a week to give your hair a deeper cleanse, while using this one regularly for your scalp. A little goes a long way, so the bottle lasts forever and is definitely worth the money. This has worked incredibly well for me, and I 100% recommend it! ❤️

I’ve had an itchy scalp for years and nothing has worked. Saw a dermatologist who gave me script for Ketoconazal liquid which you apply directly to itchy spots, which helped but had to be reapplied throughout the day. Not convenient. Saw a video by a derm who has this problem with flaky facial skin and “dandruff in eyebrows” (as I do) and he recommended this product. After one use it was 80% better, I was thrilled. Two days later I used it again and the itch was totally gone! I also used the conditioner and my normally dry, frizzy hair was frizz-free and looked much better! It’s been three days since I shampooed and no itch but I will use again this a.m. I am very happy with the results and will definitely continue using. You can use this 2-3 times a week. The one drawback is the smell, really awful and for me I could smell it for most of the first day. Then it faded away. But, it’s so effective it’s a no-brainer, it’s worth it. Oh, almost forgot. I used it on my eyebrows and face and it worked on those areas as well. 😀

I have seborrheic dermatitis, and this shampoo has been a great addition to my scalp care routine. I use it about 2 times a week, and it has helped significantly reduce my flakes and relieve my itchy scalp. I also love that it doesn’t dry out my curly hair as much as ketoconazole shampoo does, which is important for maintaining my curls. The only con is the smell—it’s not my favorite. However, I usually follow up with my curly hair products that have a better fragrance, which helps. Overall, this shampoo has worked well for managing my seborrheic dermatitis, and I would recommend it to anyone struggling with dandruff, flakes, and scalp irritation.

Used all the us based products to remove the greasy dandruff and nothing worked. Used this 1 time and poof.. your hair and scalp is completely changed. No more itch, no more shedding. It cleans everything perfectly. It leaves you feeling comfortable. It does have a fragrance that is a little medicine but I would trade that for itchy scalp all day. I used this 2-3 times a week and the consistency is great. I wish they had this in the usa sooner. Its a eu product. Price is a lil high for shampoo but if ur like me and have scalp psoriasis this treats it. It eliminates it. Does not leave a shine just a clean feeling.

I gotta hype this stuff up because I’m honestly over the moon about it curing my scalp issues. For the last year or two, I’ve been battling for the first time EVER what I thought was dandruff extreme buildup, flakes all over my scalp, and even patches on my ears. I was washing my hair so much because from the minute I’d get out of the shower the MINUTE I’d still have flakes on my scalp!! Like chunks of flakes not little ones It was a total nightmare, and I felt so insecure. I tried everything to figure out what was going on dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis, dry scalp, product buildup, allergic reactions etc. The tiny oily scaly patches that would come up on my ears made me think it was SD caused by Malassezia yeast I went through so many products and tricks, but nothing fully worked ▪ Nizoral which targets Malassezia with its antifungal ingredient, ketoconazole, but ketoconazole and selenium sulfide (the ingredient in the shampoo that worked) havedifferent mechanisms. Selenium sulfide has a stronger effect on reducing skin cell turnover. ▪Head & Shoulders which uses zinc pyrithione, which is antifungal and antibacterial but less potent against severe Malassezia overgrowth compared to selenium sulfide. It’s great for mild dandruff but might not have been strong enough. ▪T-Gel which uses coal tar to slow skin cell growth and reduce inflammation, but it’s not as effective against fungal causes like Malassezia. ▪ Salicylic acid which exfoliates the scalp to remove flakes and buildup, but it doesn’t target yeast or fungal overgrowth. ▪ Natural Remedies like tea tree oil or apple cider vinegar which can have mild antifungal properties, but they’re often not strong enough for stubborn cases of dandruff or seborrheic dermatitis. ▪ Washing less, washing more, changing my diet, limiting products to just shampoo and conditioner or even just water—I tried it all! The flakes just kept coming back, and I was ready to book a dermatologist appointment because I couldn’t take it anymore. Then I saw a random comment on TikTok raving about this shampoo so I figured, why not? I got the shampoo and conditioner, and OH MY GOD, it’s been a game-changer! I started using it every time I washed my hair (about every second or third day), and by the third wash, I had ZERO flakes no buildup, no flakes on my scalp, and the patches on my ears were gone and still are 2 months later! I’ve kept using it every time I shampoo, and it doesn’t dry out my scalp at all it’s been absolutely incredible. My husband used to think I had dry scalp because of other dandruff shampoos, but this one (with the conditioner) keeps my scalp happy and flake-free. I don’t know for sure what i had, if I had stubborn dandruff, a yeast overgrowth, or what, but this is the only thing in two years that has actually cleared up my scalp completely. Most dandruff shampoos say not to use them every day, but I used this one every wash, and maybe that’s what made the difference or maybe it’s just the magic of selenium sulfide!
