An AMAZING wet and dry vacuum!
Imagine a massive construction site right next to and opposite your house. The constant barrage of loud sounds and mud and cement-laden dust everywhere. It's a definite cleaning nightmare for any house. That’s us.We have a V11, an N10 robot vac, a slew of manual mopping accoutrements and zero maids at our disposal. The robot vac wasn’t the most effective as it would leave a lot of areas out if it encountered an obstacle, its mopping was dismal, the app was unpredictable, and the intricate cleaning job after every use made it quite a bit of a headache rather than help. The V11 of course, is great, but just vacuuming wasn’t keeping our floors clean. Mopping had to be done separately and this became a two-person job, given the size of our residence. We could not keep up with the dust and it was frustrating, to say the least. This Republic Day sale, I decided it was time to marry the mopping with vacuuming and make it a one-man job. Thanks to the immense dust in the air, my floors needed a daily wash more than a mop, and a wet and dry vac fit the bill perfectly. Now, I had never heard of Atvel before and found out only now that it’s an 8-year-old American brand focused on the Eastern European market and is now in India. I had been eyeing the popular S5 model of its rival brand for a while, but their non-removable batteries made me shy away from investing in an expensive gadget. The F16 Ultimate was the perfect choice with its swappable battery, powerful suction and clean and no-frills features.I let my house go unswept for 2 days, knowing the vac was on the way. I was going to put this unit to a harsh test right away!I’ll share some observations/tips to help you get the best out of this amazing appliance. The vacuum is supposed to be charged for 12 hrs before the first use.The right side of the head has excellent edge cleaning, while the left is about 1.5" away from the edge.Just like I wouldn’t start mopping with a dry cloth/mop head, so too I wouldn’t with a wet vac. I make it vacuum up a decent puddle of clean water first to get the roller nice and wet and then proceed to work it around my house. The vac by default will dry vacuum unless you press the trigger button on the handle, which will release water and start the mopping work. This button needs to be pressed every time you resume cleaning and in extra dirty/dusty places. My kitchen needed the most aggressive cleaning and to make the washing/mopping process easy, I poured a little water every few feet while concentrating on the high-traffic areas. The vacuum sucked it all up and did an excellent job. I could finally walk barefoot and not feel any dust/residue on the floors after a long time.My neglected balcony that faces the construction site was the last cleaning hurdle. I poured a little bit of water again all over the floor and after the vacuum did its job (it switched off in the middle as the dirty water tank had filled up), the balcony shone like new! I could roll with joy on those sparkling-clean floors!Unlike its rivals, Atvel doesn’t require any cleaning solution for its job. My floor has never shone so bright and felt so squeaky clean in ages, and that too with JUST water! The self-cleaning cycle will not start if your battery is low. When you put it on the charging station, you need to see at least 2 bars of battery on the display for the self-cleaning cycle to start. The first time I used it, I had to run the cleaning cycle 5 times to get the roller clean. Of course, I judge it by the colour of the water in the dirty tank after each cycle. Each cycle lasts 2 minutes and will use half of the water in the clean water tank. I always make sure it’s full before I start. You’ll have to empty the dirty water tank and top up the clean one every 2 cycles. On the 3rd day, the rollers were cleaned in 3 cycles. To deep clean the roller, especially after picking up a nasty/oily spill, I first do a self-cleaning cycle to get it clean, then remove the roller and wash it under a tap using a medium bristle brush. You’ll be surprised how much deeply embedded dirt comes out and I continue until the water runs clean. I then air-dry it near a window. I’ve now started doing this every 2-3 days to keep the roller squeaky clean. It makes a big difference in the mopping quality and your floors will be even cleaner, versus just doing a self-cleaning cycle only.Air drying of the roller happens in the cleaning cycle lasts for 2 hours. Pressing the On switch for 2 seconds will start/stop the rolling of the brush. Make sure to remove the top roller cover when it starts the drying cycle. When you start charging, the fans switch on by default. Press the fan button once to switch it off if you’re just charging the battery.A fully discharged battery will take 6 hours to recharge. I just about finish my whole house before the battery drains out. A spare battery would be useful. I’m told it will be in stock along with other accessories in a few weeks.Make sure you go at the natural speed of the vacuum and don’t rush it forward or back. When going over a spill, go extra slow to avoid any liquid getting into the motor. If you’ve just cleaned a spill that had oil/fats in it, can you continue mopping the rest of the house? Ideally, you should not. Run a self-cleaning cycle or two, and then resume. The roller doesn’t get any hair tangled on it, which is a huge relief for me.Yes, you can use it to mop bathrooms. But no, it will not clean deep-set grime in the grout lines. It’s a good idea to purchase the Onsitego extra warranty for extra peace of mind. The vacuum is on the heavier side and is also louder and not as fluid in its turns compared to my V11. But it’s still good and gets the job done well.It also won’t go very far under the furniture. The low placement of the battery pack makes it touch the floor when you tilt it to go under furniture, and I think this is by design, as wet vacuums are not supposed to be titled more than 140 degrees. The clean water tank needs a wedge-like handle design to make it easy to pop off the machine. It’s a little hard to pull it off with no grip provided. I hope the design teams take note of this.If I'm covering the whole house in one go, I stop the vacuuming in the middle, remove the roller, wash it thoroughly under a tap with a brush and then resume. The mopping results are even better. All in all, although other big brands boast many additional features that are not present in the Atvel, you will not miss anything much with the F16 Ultimate. It offers a simple and complete solution to keeping the floor clean. It doesn’t claim anything fancy, but for its competitive price, it does its job EXTREMELY well. I’m so glad I gave this new brand a try and I would happily buy this again and again!I’ll edit my review as I learn more about this vacuum and my overall experience. Meanwhile, I cannot recommend it enough to anyone looking for an all-in-one floor-cleaning solution!

The Atvel F16 Ultimate: Just Right for Jaadu-Pocha in Indian Homes!
I recently picked up the Atvel F16 Ultimate Cordless Wet & Dry Vacuum Cleaner, and it’s been a right choice for our jaadu-pocha cleaning style. It doesn’t just suck up the dry dirt and wet spills—it actually mops the floor at the same time, making it a true 2-in-1 device that’s perfect for Indian homes! The best part? Everyone at home, from me to my wife and even our domestic help, found it easy to use right from day one! What I Liked More:Perfect for All Kinds of Messes: Whether it’s dry messes like dal and tea powder or wet spills like ketchup and curry, this vacuum handles everything simultaneously. The built-in spray function helps scrub dried-up stains—no separate tools needed. It’s truly jaadu and pocha in one go!Easy for Everyone & Great for Corners: This lightweight (around 4.7 kg), cordless vacuum is easy to maneuver, and the self-propelled roller does half the work. It fits under most furniture and has a roller positioned at the edge, making it perfect for cleaning along walls, corners, and skirting boards without leaving dust streaks.Smart Features: It comes with two modes—Eco for regular cleaning and Max for tougher messes. The UV sterilization adds some extra hygiene, which I really appreciate. The display is clear, showing battery levels and other useful info.Advanced Self-Cleaning & Automatic Drying: Simply place the vacuum on the charging station, and it initiates intensive self-cleaning—removing hair and dirt from the roller in just one minute. The best part? The roller dries automatically on the base, so it’s ready for the next use—no manual effort required!A Few Considerations:Designed for Floors: It’s mainly meant for floor cleaning, so it’s not suitable for kitchen counters or higher surfaces—but I knew this at the time of purchase, so it’s not something to dislike.Battery Life on Max Mode: While the battery lasts about 46 minutes in Eco mode, it runs for around 41 minutes in Max mode. This is still reasonable, and I was aware of this before buying, so it hasn’t been an issue for me.Final Thoughts:If you’re looking for a vacuum that makes jaadu and pocha happen at the same time, the Atvel F16 Ultimate is a fantastic choice. It’s made cleaning faster and easier for everyone at home. A worthy addition to my home cleaning appliances!
