I’ve been using the CAP Barbell Olympic Bumper Plates (100–370 lb set) for quite a while now, and overall, I’m really impressed with their quality and performance. The plates have a great, consistent bounce to them and feel solid and well-constructed. Even with heavy, regular use, they’ve held up perfectly—no gouges in rubber coating, cracks, chips, or concerns about durability. This set showed up in about five separate boxes and everything arrived in perfect condition. Each plate was wrapped in plastic inside its own box, so nothing was scratched or damaged during shipping. Just be prepared for how greasy they are right out of the packaging. The plastic is soaked in oil and even after wiping them down twice with cleaning wipes they were/are still slick even after lots of use. If you set them on the floor before cleaning them fully, the grease will transfer and make the area slippery. With more wiping it can be removed, but the initial cleanup is definitely the most annoying part. Once cleaned up, the set itself is great. They are very easy to use and don't bend at all. I already owned 10s, 15s, and 25s, and this rounded out the heavier plates so we can increase weight and vary our workouts more. They fit all standard Olympic-size barbells, both ribbed and smooth, and the rubber coating gives some peace of mind when racking or sliding plates off stands. They’re sturdy, consistent in size, and work well for any barbell workout. Overall, the only real downside is the factory oil, but once that’s handled, the quality, durability, and versatility make the set well worth it.

I ordered the set of 10s, 25s, 45s for my home gym setup. They came in separate boxes, and a few of these plates had some manufacturing issues where the rubber was bulging. I contact CAP customer service and received a swift response and they immediately had replacement plates shipped out to me. I had them the next day! Bumper plates are fantastic for the garage gym and are easy to use. They seem durable enough to last quite a while. The only issue was that they did have a strong odor at first, but after leaving them out for a few days the odor dissipated. Overall extremely impressed with the customer service from CAP and would not hesitate to purchase more of their products.

These weights are great for the price, fit on my barbell and cable machine just fine. They do come a little oily so beware of that as it does have a faint scent that wears off after a little bit. So far, so good no complaints!

Great product. The plates were exactly as described and worked perfectly on my 2” EZ bar and leg extension machine. The plates were greasy and had a smell to them as I expected. But it was easy to clean them with Dawn power spray and a rag to remove the grease. The smell eventually fades away after a week or two.

Great set of weights for a great price!

Should have believed the low ratings! The smell is absolutely noxious. Completely covered in oil. WHY?!? Six plates stunk up our 1750 sq ft house in minutes. Taken hours to air out. Our whole house smells like burning tires! Literally has made me nauseous. The picture of the dirty paper towel is from cleaning ONE side of the plate. Why would a company think it's ok to ship a finished product in this condition? Insane. Some of the painted graphics rubbed off using a paper towel to clean the oil. Can only imagine the horrible chemicals used for these in the manufacturing process. The "rubber" makes the plates slippery and hard to safely pick up. For like $60 more you can buy an all metal set that has hand grips, which is exactly what I just did. Foolish of me to try and be so cheap. These are getting returned. AVOID.

Solid. Yes to smell and oilness, but aren’t all plates and dumbbells like that? I wiped it down with dish soap and letting them air out in garage. Otherwise they look and feel great, can’t wait to use them.

For a home gym I think these are great. I got the economy 190lb set. They're no rogue bumper plates, but they're absolutely fine for my use. I have no plans on an IPF competition and I won't be doing cleans with them so I can't comment on how I think they will hold up. For normal power rack use these are great. Some of the rubber is nicked here and there. Some is definitely shipping, some is clearly manufacturing, nothing affects the plate. I measured each weight to see what "economy" would have for accuracy and I think I've landed on an explanation. I'm pretty sure they measure the weights and THEN coat them. 45s were 45.4 each 25s were 25.4 each 10s were 10.4 each They arrived covered in what seemed like a machining oil, not dripping or anything, but needs to be wiped off. Get your favourite dish soap and a sponge ready, or a good degreaser. Took me 10 minutes to clean them all and they feel great now. The smell was not bad like other reviews stated. I will update this review if something breaks/doesn't work/shows low quality in the future. First day, they're absolutely 5 stars.

These CAP bumper plates just work. I’ve dropped them a bunch of times after deadlifts and they’re still in great shape. No cracking, no weird bounce, just solid. The 2-inch fit is clean on my Olympic bar, and they feel balanced every time I load them up. What I really like is they’re quieter and don’t beat up the garage floor like steel plates. I don’t baby them, and they hold up. They’ve basically become the backbone of my workouts, I throw them on and get to work without worrying about gear.

Comes greasy and are thicker and other plates, but still a strong value

The reviews are right, there's an overwhelming chemical, rubber odour when you open these, and they're oily. I gave them a wipe with a cloth and multi purpose cleaner, and left them outside overnight. Now they're fine. Besides that non issue, these are fantastic and well made for the price, would but again!

I like that each weight is the same length just different thicknesses. Also the economy sets are cheap and I also got it on sale. With free shipping its a good value, much better than any other I've seen on Amazon. All the weights were slightly above their stated weight, which meets my expectations.
