Dublin & Wicklow: A Walking Guide

We did about 5 hikes from this book while in Dublin for a week. The directions and explanations were excellent, clear and easy to follow.Some of the tips were fantastic. They defiantly saved us from mistakes as some of the routes and trails were not intuitive and without the information I would have chosen to walk the wrong way.As a side not, we were in Ireland for 9 days in June without a drop of rain, only blue skies and sun. Perhaps this book brought the good weather luck?

Well-written and informative. Pulls no punches about trail conditions and how to access trail heads. Only wish I had time to access all the hikes described.

Why would "A Walking Guide" for "Wicklow" only include information on half of the world-famous Wicklow Way? This rather out-of-date guide will help you walk from Dublin to Glenmalure, then leave you stranded. Where is the information for the continuing trail from Glenmalure to Shillelagh (all of which is in Co. Wicklow), and from Shillelagh on to trailsend at Clonegall? Its like buying an Appalachian walking guide that only gets you half way through the Appalachian Trail, without warning you.

Rather than last year's edition, the book was published 7 years ago. Disappointing!

This book is full of great walks and is a must for any family during the summer, it gives great detailed information on walks with fantastic views of Dublin to the south of Wicklow.it give good information of the difficulty of the walks, the equipment to use, good directions and easy to follow maps etc.I've already lent this book to countless people and other who have bought it on recommendation have been delighted.

100% recomend this book. Too many good things to say. I do recomend buying a proper OS map and compass as the maps in the book arent great for navigation, but they are good as a rough guide and are handy on routes that are easy to navigate. Dont hesitate to buy this great book!

Gets you out and about if you live in the Dublin area.

Good read & sorted out a few walks that i wll undertake. Informative information.As i not heading to Ireland until late August 2017 for 7 weeks will have to review again once i have completed the walks
