Exactly what I was looking for
This dance appliance is precisely what I was looking for. I placed it with my barre in my studio. It is large enough that you can do a full barre. The surface is fine, as I no longer dance en pointe. If I were to, I would use a bit of resin as you normally would for pointe work at the barre. You could if you wished, place marley over it for additional cushioning, but the bottom surface will almost give you a sprung floor. It is quite well made and came carefully packed, with all corners fully protected with foam. The entire unit was packed in plastic sheet and the shipping box was very heavy card board. I think this will be fine for tap practice as well. I'm very happy with it.

Came Damaged
The media could not be loaded. The quality is very nice and the size is good, but it came damaged at the left corner.

Perfect for a beginner
I’m a beginner tapper so it suits the need! Mine currently doesn’t take a beating so not sure on the durability of a super experienced dancer but for my flap-toe it’s great!!! 😜

Kind of flimsy, not holding up well.
This board is nice and big but seems to be cheaply made. It chipped in several places after the first use and the side is peeling. It’s been used normally for tap practice by one small child. Not too impressed.

Damaged product
It came damaged otherwise is pretty good. I should blame the delivery people if they didn’t ship a damaged item.

What a cool dance floor, it's much more larger than I thought but I love that
I really am enjoying this tap floor. It is super nice. Came perfectly in tact. It has the cushions foam pieces on the back that absorb the bounce. I love that it has an easy grip handle and that it does not cause an issue with my taps. It is a little slick but it will wear over several uses and that will do away. Easy to store under my bed until I need it again for practice. I would recommend.

Nice Tap Dance Floor
My daughter is always wanting to practice her tap routines at home and hasn't been able to due to the tile floors we have. I really like this board as it allows her to practice at home and not tear up our floors. It's also easy to use as there is foam padding on the bottom to protect the floor and add a bit of a buffer from the board.

Good size, OK weight, small tweaks would help a lot
So, this tap board will very likely work for our purposes. Our tap dancer seems quite pleased with it - she's an adult of average height and weight. We do shows in all sorts of places, often with terrible floors for tap dancing - so this is a definite win for logistics. Some things to know:- it's 4 layers of either plywood or composite wood - it feels plenty strong for a regular sized adult.- it's got thick, sturdy foam on the bottom, a good choice to cushion the floor without making it mushy or wobbly.- the foam didn't stay on so well in its first transport - I was able to fit the board in my Honda HRV, and carry it to our rehearsal space (yay for elevator!) and when I got there, one strip on the edge was coming off. I was able to stick it back on and it seems well attached, but watch out for that. It's particularly a thing because the board is big enough to be unwieldy so you're very likely to be grabbing it by an edge (with foam on it) to get it in or out of your car or your storage.- there is no corner support. If the dancer dances all the way to the outer 3" square of any of the 4 corners, the board will flip up if there's not also weight more in the center. This should be pretty easy to avoid, but it would also have been nice to have 4 foam supports in the corners - even 4 2"X2" squares of foam would help.- the carry handle on the back center of the board works best if you have a long inseam - I do, our tap dancer doesn't. I had no trouble walking around with it, but she would need 2" heels to not drag it on the floor while walking with it. We're seriously considering mounting some loops to the underside of the board so it can be carried with an adjustable shoulder strap - a way easier way to carry something like this. I'd love it if that came as a feature with the board, honestly I think it's a better design than having a hole for the handle.- this board doesn't fold. It doesn't claim to fold. We just thought - "a big thing like that... surely it folds in half with hidden hinges, right?" Nope. Plan to have a way to transport and store it.That said - it's solid, it seems to have a surface that makes our tap dancer happy, and it definitely seems big enough to work on, and it should set up nicely in most of our venues.
