Good Basic Three Wire Remote for SINGLE acting pumps
In the course of using my dump trailer, I ran over the remote-control cable. It wasn’t difficult to repair but I had to tape up the splice. Bummer, but I really wanted a new one… <smile> Every time a buddy sees the taped-up cord, they ask if I ran over the line. I guess it's a pretty common thing. I ordered this one on a hunch, turns out I should have read the writeup closer. It clearly states it’s a three-wire, Single Acting Remote. My trailer employs a Double Acting Hydraulic pump; which means I needed a four-wife remote. This is unfortunate because this remote is a fairly nice one with 15 feet of cord. It even has a holster and magnets on the rear. The magnets come in handy when you stick the remote to the trailer bed while you are preoccupied with the trailer’s end gates. Just don’t drive off letting the cord get under the wheels, my bad…I thoroughly tested all the circuits internally, no problem there. The only ‘con’ internally is, the wiring should have crimp-on wire terminal ends instead of just stripping the colored insulation off the copper and wrapping it around a screw. This is a minor issue and would be very easy to correct. Be sure to follow your remote's wiring plan, regarding the seller's photos, I'm not sure what they mean by, 'Blue wire - Connect to lift valve' and 'Black wire - Connect to starter'. Some configurations can be different, the Red wire is common, and this can be either Battery plus or Ground, depending on your trailer. (Pay attention here~!~)This remote has a gland on the cord to keep moisture out of the mechanism. The internal switch has all the necessary mechanisms to switch a double-action pump if you choose to change out the wire to a four-wire system. Which is nice because it is a nice pump controller at a good price. I’m keeping this because it will work with mine should my remote ever give me trouble, finding heavy-duty flexible four-wire cable shouldn’t be an issue.

Versatile switch system. Multiple uses
We are going to use this for a remote switch for a household elevator that will be installed on our front porch. Well made, and versatile.
