Are there two different sizes, or does it automatically come in the 2.25 inch size? I need it to fit my duty belt.

This is a Zak Tool model 55 which is for 2.25" belts. The Zak Tool 54 is the smaller size 1.75"

how big is the keyring thats included,i like to have keys an tools on separate rings, will this ring be large enough to mount two swiss army knives

The key ring is rather large and hardy, and could easily mount two Swiss army knives. I'm sorry I can't give you any specific measurements, but I am very confident that it will do the trick. Unless you plan on holding two of these: http://www.amazon.com/Wenger-16999-Swiss-Knife-Giant/dp/B001DZTJRQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1377393688&sr=8-1&keywords=largest+swiss+army+knife You're out of luck in that case.

I want to hang some keys to the side of overalls, not on the belt but the top of the material. Will this work?

The loop is pretty tight. You may have trouble passing anything through it that's thicker then a 1/8". Otherwise it will work, you'll like how securely it holds onto the key ring.
