Very energizing happy feeling whether hot or cold brewed.
This Organic Japanese Sencha is really special. It is really energizing and gives a feeling of happiness with an alert calm. The vivid color, smell, and freshness of this Sencha is really pleasent to the senses. I brew 4oz at 160° F for 45 seconds in each infusion. Getting 7-8 infusions from this energy giving Sencha. When i do it this way it prevents any bitterness from the tannins, and gives a very true flavor from each short infusion. I also tried doing a cold brew method, by adding 1 tsp to 8oz to 12oz of cold water. Then lwt it sit in the fridge overnight or for 12 hours. It was very potent and tasty with Stevia. There have been new research showing that more of the healthy tea nutrients are released in the water during a cold brew vs hot brewing. I will be buying more when i run out of this.

Absolutely spectacular
I don't exactly consider myself a connoisseur, but I've had some damned fine senchas and this one ranks among the best in spite of its modest price compared to the senchas marketed as super-premium and such. As others have mentioned the color is a deep green rather than a pale or a yellow one. Texture is buttery, flavor is only slightly grassy and astonishingly naturally sweet—I normally add sugar to cheaper teas but even a small amount of sugar completely spoils the magical flavor if this tea. Astringency is very mild, and there are these wonderful floral notes that emerge when you give a good smack with a mouthful. Recently I've been into Chinese greens but, my god, this sencha is so awe-inspiringly good that it's bound to become my daily drinker. Brewing tips: aim for 170-175 degrees fahrenheit. Supposedly, first bringing the water to a boil and then letting is cool will oxygenate the water and yield a better brew. 1 gram per 50mL of water is what's typically recommended for loose leaf sencha, though I use perhaps 10% less than that. It's very important not to overextract this tea—I did my first extraction for 1:30 and that was way too much, it came out bitter! 1:00 seems like the way to go. As is always the case with a good green tea, you can easily get a good 3 infusions out of the leaves. I can't thank you enough for providing such a wonderful product to us tea lovers in the States, Ocha & Co!

Excellent Quality And Taste!
Received fresh in its vacuum sealed non resealable pouch. I had to transfer the contents to a tea canister. I've had green teas before, but not sencha. Very satisfied with the taste and quality of this tea. No bitterness and very little astringency after brewing 3 tsp in 16oz for 90secs at 175°F. Best green tea I've had so far! But expensive! That's why I'm giving it only four stars.

Beautiful
Incredible - deep deep umami followed by light notes of fresh dew and alpine, with a long lasting finish similar to chicken broth. Incredible work - probably cheaper than it should be for its quality. 10/10

Top quality Sencha
Excellent product, very close to what I have had in Tea shops. I have been drinking green tea for many years, but never really experienced great green tea until I spent a few months in Austin and stayed near a place called the Steeping Room. They really turned me on to the complex flavors and different styles of Green tea. I have had the Japanese Matcha, Genmaicha, Sencha and and some Chinese gunpowder green. while far from an expert, I really enjoy this Sencha green tea, and from time to time I really like the comforting taste of the Genmaicha which has roasted brown rice in it. The color is a lively rich green and the taste is mild but has a richness to it that will make you laugh at the grocery store teas. Got here much faster than expected. Will be again when I run out. However, I don't expect run out anytime soon, because the vacuun packed bag conatins plenty of tea. Smells great, too. Shipes all the way from Japan apparently but still came quickly.

Great company. Great tea
This is actually Shincha, a variety of green tea. My staple from Ocha is their Sencha wihich is a delight. Seasonally, you can find Shincha. It seems to sell out very quickly and for good reason. Has some extra natural flavor notes. It is bright and very drinkable. I brew Gong Fu style ( @ 170 degrees, multiple infusions with same tea, and less water @150 ml per infusion). Ocha as a company has been very helpful to me. Purchased some tea a while back and the vacuum seal was open. I called and was assured the tea would still be good (which it was). and my purchase price was refunded. I've purchased several varieties of green tea from them. All very good.

My favourite from this range: Bio-Sencha ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A perfect tea. And an incredible aroma, reminiscent of jasmine. The flavour is rich and well-balanced. I prepare three infusions, each with 270 ml of water. 10 grams of tea is enough for three infusions of 270 ml each. I use the same tea for all three infusions. You must pour out every last drop of each infusion and leave the lid slightly ajar so that the tea does not over-steep. 1. First infusion: water temperature 70°C. I add 10 grams of tea, pour in 270 ml and wait 60 seconds. 2. Second infusion: 80°C for 15 seconds. 3. Third infusion: 90 degrees for 15 seconds. Of all the methods, in my opinion, this is the one that brings out the best in Sencha and Kabusetsu. Thank you, Ocha&Co!
