Complete Satisfaction So Far
This review is based on my initial use and impressions and I will update the review if I find any negative aspects to this product. Like many other RV owners, mine came with a Genesis GT-2.0, which in my opinion is really a terrible product. I was never able to get the GT 2.0 to read a DVD and the video output was composite, not HDMI. So, I finally gave up on the GT-2.0 and found the iRV34 as a replacement. It is advertised as a direct replacement and that is absolutely the case. I literally took it out of the box, pulled all the wires from the old GT-2.0 and plugged them into the iRV34 and turned it on for an installation time of way less than 5 minutes. It worked immediately using the existing composite cables. I then used an HDMI cable to hook up to one of the two ports on the irV34 to the HDMI port on the television and immediately had a working unit so I discarded the composite cables. The unit has two output and two input HDMI ports on the back and an HDMI input port on the face of the unit so you can hook up players into any of them. I didn't have enough time to try everything on the unit but everything worked. Bluetooth with my phone, DVD player, and radio all worked fine but I didn't have an SD card or USB drive to try them or to have the television sound route through the iRV34 to the RV speakers. Based on what I have seen so far, I readily endorse this product. The Amazon price is about a third less than I would have paid at the RV online dealer where I found other reviews which gave me the confidence to buy this unit.

iRV34 replaced and now have great performance.
Very disappointed. Installed in RV as a replacement to upgrade sound quality. While sound improvement has been very good, unfortunately DVD player is not reading majority of DVDs that old system did play successfully. Already cleaned DVDs and tried in other devices and DVDs performed successfully in those devices. The screen occasionally shows, "This Player is incompatible with this region marking of this disc", when trying these DVDs. And this seems to be intermittent as it immediately reads and plays some DVDs that are from the same producer and manufacturer. Unfortunately if this unit is operating as designed, it is a wasted purchase, and may not be resolved by a replacement.UPDATE: After a very prompt response from QAV Division of Patrick Industries verifying the unit is defective and advising me to return it, I've completed the initial return steps and process to Amazon and will be receiving a new one. Very impressive response from both the supplier and Amazon. I've changed the stars accordingly and will update them again after receiving and successful operation of new unit.Additionally, as new as this unit is, why it's not designed to play Blu Ray, is also hard to understand. After receiving replacement unit, I'm very satisfied with it's operation and quality of video and sound in our RV. Very thankful for supplier and amazon quick resolution in the receipt and return process to obtain replacement unit. Installation was easy and operation procedures simple to use. We installed additional Blu Ray player to handle Blu Ray discs and with that running the TV sound through the iRV34 provides good quality sound during the use of that player.

Direct replacement for the iRV33 and earlier models and it works...
...for now...Confidence is low that this will last long. The IRV33 that came stock in our 2016 Keystone Outback RV died at the 2 year mark (and just out of warranty). We almost lost a DVD in the old unit as the symptom was a total power failure. Only by taking the unit apart were we able to apply 12V and coax the DVD out. User beware, eject discs after each use or risk losing unless you are as stubbornly persistent as I am.The difference between this and the iRV33 is that this has only one rear HDMI input and one output contrary to a previous rating. Check the specs carefully. We bought the iRV34 thinking that the review was accurate but that would not have changed our decision.Service and support from the manufacturer on the failed iRV33 was non-existent and frankly, we're not anticipating any better when this one fails. The RV manufacturer and selling dealer similarly had little interest in doing anything other than replacing at a cost of $500. With that price benchmark, one of the few good features of this unit is the online price and ease of replacement. The unit claims surround 2.1 but that would also require additional wiring and speakers. The Bluetooth connection is wonky and counter-intuitive at best. Some devices will and some won't regardless of Bluetooth version. The instructions are vague. Try to connect as you would any other device and it may connect. We haven't tried the purported APP control. We considered other brands sold on Amazon but they would have required rewiring and lacked rear of unit HDMI input/outputs. We compromised with the direct fit and the strongest extended warranty available (4 years). Given our experience and the online reviews of the iRV units, it was an easy wager that it will be replaced. It is rare that I'll buy an extended warranty.Maybe someday soon Jensen or Pyle will make a direct replacement unit (the iRV wiring harness is at least common to early generation integrated RV stereos) with HDMI and Blu-Ray. If you're listening, there's a ton of these installed out there begging for a better/stronger amplifier, blu-ray, multiple HDMI in/out and a simple, sensible remote interface. Until then, or until I get motivated enough to rewire and make an adapter panel, I'll rely on the extended warranty to pay off.
