Mattel Jurassic World Hammond Collection Scutosaurus Dinosaur Figure

Amazing articulation and posing! Scutosaurus is such a cool species and I like how represented it is in the Jurassic to line. Great paint job, a nice call back to the original Jurassic Park Kenner figure from 1993. Joints aren’t stiff and can move freely without being too loose

I was very surprised when I first saw this announced, a later Permian reptile that ate plants in the same line as the terrible trex, and more recently, stellar spinosaurus. Thankfully, the Scutosaurus takes its place among the greats, an amazing scult for hard core fans and collectors alike, with fantastic articulation and great color applications. The green is a great choice here, I love the small spikes along the jaw line and how robust and tank-like it is. I highly recommend you pick this up, along with the dimetrodon to pair it up!

Not sure why this dinosaur was so hard to find. It has great detailing, although its fairly small. I wouldnt pay much more than the $15 it sells for. Its a great toy to look at and mostly a collectors item.

My dynasaur crazy nephew loved this. I was surprised at how small it is. About 5 inches but his father told me it was the right size as smaller than T Rex. Various movements it makes was great to my nephew.

Good for the price & a nice edition to your toy and dino collection. Remake of the original (and rarer) 93’ toy. This version is probably (maybe scientifically/paleontologically) more color accurate to the real Scutosaurus dinosaur.

I love that Jurassic World is expanding beyond just dinosaurs with these latest Hammond Collection figures. They're much more poseable than other Jurassic World toylines and are the only option I've seen so far to get action figures of more obscure non-dinosaur prehistoric animals. The details are great, features aren't ridiculously overexaggerated like some other Jurassic World toys. The colors are a bit drab, but that's shown in the photos and so wasn't a surprise. But it is a bit of a disappointment that the claws are not painted.

Kid loved it. the attention in the little details on these toys are really well done.

A great dinosaur

The Hammond Collection is Mattel's effort to make super-detailed, highly articulated, 1:18-scale prehistoric reptiles for their Jurassic Park / Jurassic World lines. And this unassuming little Permian pareiasaur, Scutosaurus, is one of the surprise stars of the line. Without having to adhere to a movie art department's "vision" of what they think an extinct reptile should look like for maximum silver-screen impact, Mattel's team have made a nice, believable, pretty darned accurate Scutosaurus toy. Really, the ONLY complaint I have of this toy is that I wish it had articulated ankles for even better posing. It's so good, it has become very popular among YouTube palaeontology and dinosaur-toy enthusiasts. I don't say this lightly, but I would love to see Mattel release this mould in different colour schemes, reflecting the animal's previous rare and cancelled releases. This one is already in the somewhat rare 1997 Wal-Mart "Dino-Tracker Adventure Set" colour scheme, and some paint-jobs reflecting the even rarer 2020 "Jurassic World" Savage Strike version and the unreleased 1994 Kenner Series II "Plateface" version would be most welcome. And then, if they'd like to do Hammond Collection versions of Ornithosuchus and Estemmenosuchus, as well . . . . [HEAVY HINT, MATTEL!] On the whole, an excellent and rather cute little prehistoric reptile toy.
