Was skeptical after reading reviews, but I LOVE IT!
I was a tad skeptical after reading some of the bad reviews, but so far I LOVE IT! 1. I love the snooze feature, and I have used it for 4 nights in a row, and no problems. It does not snooze for so long that you fall back into a deep sleep...but it is also not too short, that it is annoying. 2. Setting it is super easy...and this is coming from someone who HATES setting alarm clocks 3. It has military and regular time! I love military time! 4. You can set it for vibrate only, beep only, or both together. I just use vibrate, it is plenty loud for me, and I hate high pitched beeping alarm clocks...they hurt me in my soul! This makes me so happy to wake up. The beep is loud if needed, but not outrageous! 5. The light works good....its sorta funny since it is not a backlit feature, it is a little light that shines onto the face....so not the best, but works just fine. I dont feel that it would get turned of while I am sleeping under my pillow....I just dont see how that could happen. I love it...works....its easy....small...and lightweight for travel!

Shakes you up....
I purchased this item because I wanted a small and portable alarm that could wake me when I travel, yet not be so loud and annoying that it would wake others around me. To that extent, this item does very well. The vibration is strong enough that you can place this under your standard pillow and you will definitely feel it vibrate. Much stronger than a cell phone vibration, but not as strong as one of those small battery powered handheld massagers...close though. The buzz setting is another option, but it's your typical travel alarm buzz setting. Loud enough to wake light sleepers, but most people will probably sleep through it. A simple yet nice feature is the included clip. You can clip this alarm to your pillow case, clothing, or another similarly thin item to prevent the alarm from moving around too much. Very useful for those that tend to move a lot in their sleep. Operation is very simple... -1 switch on one side to choose between vibrate, buzz, or vibrate & buzz -1 switch on the other side to choose between alarm on or off -buttons on top of the flip-up clock to set time and alarm That's pretty much it. Simple yet effective. ****After using this at home on a consistent basis I learned to turn off the alarm without even waking up. To prevent this, I now place this alarm on my desk instead of under my pillow so the loud noise created from the hard plastic vibrating against my wooden desk wakes me up.****

Versatile and dependable and perfect for the hearing impaaired
The sonic Alert is an ideal portable alarm, particularely for the hearing impaired.. It is small and light, battery powered, with a large digital display,, button-controlled display light, buzzer and vibrator alarm,, and easy controls for setting time and alarm. It has lanyard with clip and comes in a zippered, padded fabric case. A neat design at a modest price, durable and dependable. My recent purchase was for a gift. I have been a user for almost five years, a deaf person depending on the reliable Sonic Alert as an alarm and timer. ,

Weak, But Effective
I bought two of these alarm clocks a few days ago, hoping to find relief from noisy, audible alarm clocks, and hoping to wake up quickly with a product that supposedly gave off very powerful vibrations. Unfortunetly, this product is not nearly as powerful as it is made out to be. Now, keep in mind that I bought two of these alarm clocks, so I've been using two of these to wake up with, and even two of these combined are quite weak. I've tried everything from putting them under my matress, under my pillow, on my floor, and even strapping them to my leg. The only things that effectively woke me up were strapping them to my leg and putting them on the floor. Putting them on the floor only worked because the vibrations made a noise louder than an audible alarm clock would make, which defeated the purpose of even having a vibrating alarm clock. Strapping them to my leg so that I could directly feel the vibrations worked somewhat. Imagine asking someone to wake you up by taking a back massaging device and putting it against your leg; that's how powerful even two of these combined are, which is very weak. The result is a somewhat pleasant waking up experience, more-so than with loud audible alarms, but as soon as you get access to the alarm you can press the snooze button easily and go back to sleep. It's not a powerful jolt of vibrations like some have described, however they do wake you up, but no better than audible alarm clocks do. If I woke up and could not fall asleep after waking up to this alarm clock like some claim, I would give it 5 stars, but that isn't the case. Some features of this clock are: -Easy to access snooze button, maybe a bit too easy -Vibration alarm, ringer alarm as loud as a kitchen timer, and a vibrating and ringing alarm. -Horribly weak green light activated by the snooze button that fails as a replacement for a backlit screen. -It's easy to set the time, at least. -Alarm on/off switch.

Strong vibration will wake anyone up. Wish it had a battery low indicator though.
I am very familiar with and like Sonic Alert products so I chose their travel alarm clock when I needed one. It was a good choice although I wish a couple of things were different. This round alarm clock comes with a nice zip around carry bag. It has a tough ribbon with a clip on it to attach it to a pillow case or wherever you set it. That's a good idea so it doesn't get lost or drop out of bed when you're asleep. This unit takes two AA batteries and one AAA one which are included. The smaller battery is for the light on the display and the others are for the alarm. Setting the time and alarm are very simple. No instructions needed. You can choose to wake up by a buzzing/alarm sound, a strong vibration, or both. I am hearing impaired and can't even hear the alarm but I sure can feel the vibration! It's very strong. I love that this clock allows me to infinitely hit the snooze button. I hate when an alarm gives me just one or two chances then stops alerting me to wake up. I usually just fall back to sleep. This one goes until you manually turn the clock off. All that is great and it works wonderfully. It work me up several times with a vibration that I could not ignore. But there are a couple of things that I wish were different about this clock. For one, there is no indicator that the batteries are getting low. They just say that, when the alarm or vibration are weak, to change the batteries. That makes me nervous. If the batteries die, I won't wake up in time. Also, the light that illuminates the time is just a little orange one that points toward the numbers. It is not back light. I don't really care much about that but it seems that the numbers should be lit up by default but, of course, that takes battery power. Otherwise though. this keeps time well, shakes me awake with a very strong vibration, and is portable for travel or to use anywhere that an outlet isn't available. I used it when I slept on the vouch the other night. I put it next to my head clipped to the pillow and it did its thing. I was worried it wouldn't but it came through perfectly. I trust Sonic Alert and have two of their plug in clocks that are wonderful for someone who needs a shaker or a very loud alarm. I will just change the batteries when I sense the vibration is not as strong as usual. Maybe I will get some rechargeable ones and charge them each time I use the clock so I know they are fresh. Either way, this works for me and I am happy to have it. My Fitbit was my alarm but it only vibrates once then stops and I often fell back to sleep.

Forget 6 alarm clocks across the room. This one does the trick.
Traveling for work? Living the hotel life? If you're a heavy sleeper like me, this alarm clock is a must-have. Its compact size means it fits perfectly in any suitcase, backpack, or even your pocket. Just set the alarm and slide it under your pillow before you go to sleep. It won't jolt you out of bed or anything. Instead, it vibrates just enough to say, "Hey, you, it's time to get up." I'm not talking about that cranky front desk wake up call on the phone from 1986 either. Just buy it, try it, and fall in love with it.

A good idea but poor product
It was great when it worked. The vibration was slightly too mild but it was enough to wake me. I purchased this more for the purpose of not waking my roommates and less for my sleep problems. For anyone with a genuine sleeping disorder, I would not at all recommend this clock for the reason that it's simply too weak to really grab your attention. Even if the clock were powerful enough, the stupid thing died after only four months of use. I put in new batteries, took out the batteries that were fresh, put in different ones... nothing. The clock worked just fine, but neither the alarm or vibrator would go off when it was supposed to. If I hit "test," both would work just fine. So there was something wrong with the connection between the set alarm and the actual execution of the command. All in all, just spend the extra money to get a quality vibrating alarm clock that will actually last. Four months is just not worth a solid spend.

That's the best alarm clock I've ever had, it changed my life
I'm deaf so waking up by myself might be tricky, but after I purchased this alarm clock, I never get late, always wake up right on time. The vibration level is pretty high, it vibrates a lot that you can feel the bed shaking. The sound alarm I've never used it but I have tested it and it's really loud. I do recommend for deaf people and the ones that are looking for a no sound alarm.
