Petface Penelope Parsnip Plush Dog Toy with Built-In Squeaker (Pack of 1)

I’m a big fan of Petface toys. They’re always cute and characterful, and generally very reasonably priced. I paid £4 for this radish, which I think is excellent value in the world of dog toys. I bought it for my small Hungarian Pumi, who likes plushies for comfort but is also a dedicated nibbler. She has a habit of working her way around every corner, point and protruding bit on her teddies, so this one definitely passes the “nib” test. The three leaves on top are all moveable and crinkle individually, giving her plenty to investigate and chew on, while the main radish is soft and nicely stuffed with a squeaker inside. It feels soft, well made and substantial enough for the price. To be clear, my dog will absolutely get through to the stuffing quickly. This isn’t an indestructible toy and I wouldn’t expect it to be. What matters to me is that she’ll enjoy it for months and months, repeatedly coming back to it and finding another leaf, corner or point to nibble on. A very cute little toy with plenty of interest for a dog who likes soft toys to snuggle and gently chew. For £4, I’m really pleased with it.

Sooo cute my dog Bella won't put it down ... she usually chews all her teddy's buy not this one she takes it every where with her , great price and great delivery as always

Why I Bought It I picked this Fluffy Carrot Dog Toy by Petface for my small mixed-breed dog who loves plush toys and squeakers. I wanted something cute, soft, and inexpensive for gentle indoor play and cuddling, not something heavy duty. Setup / First Impressions It arrived clean, brightly coloured and smelling like new plush (no strange chemical scent). The squeaker inside works immediately and isn’t too loud, which is good indoors. It’s lightweight and easy to throw and carry for my pup. Performance / Quality My dog absolutely loves this carrot toy—the texture is soft, the plush fabric is nice against her fur, and she has carried it around, chewed lightly, and squeaked it with enthusiasm. The cute “Foodie Faces” design adds personality, and the multiple styles (tomato, parsnip, etc.) are fun to choose from. However, it’s not built for aggressive chewing: after a few minutes of good chewing at the tip, some threads started to fray. The squeaker could also be more securely stitched, as the stitching at one seam seems a bit loose. Pros ✔️ Very cute design with lots of character ✔️ Soft, plush texture that’s good for snuggles and gentle play ✔️ Squeaker is engaging and adds entertainment ✔️ Affordable, especially for small or light chewers Cons ❌ Not very durable under strong chewing—threads may fray ❌ Seams might loosen if played roughly ❌ Smaller size and plush build mean limited outdoor or rough-play use Final Verdict A fantastic toy for gentle indoor play or cuddling, especially for puppies or small breeds. If your dog is a heavy chewer, this won’t last long, but for light to moderate use it delivers cute design, fun squeaks, and good value. I’d buy it again as a soft toy treat.

I bought this for my 7-month old kitten as his favorite toy carrot was in need of replacing - it is almost as big as he is! Nevertheless, once attached to a stick and moved about for a bit, he got the idea and started chasing and attacking it. He has spent the last 20 minutes playing with it on his own, dragging it into tunnels, chucking it about and pouncing on it, and biting the squeaker to make a satisfying noise. He is a very active and strong breed (Bengal), so this may not be suitable for all cats, but in his case it's awesome! Unfortunately the durability is a bit of a let down - I would not describe it as being likely to wear out "eventually" as it does in the description; the first "mega-carrot" was shredded after his first play session; and the squeaker is no more. Cat claws and teeth do more slicing & piercing damage than doggie chewing. But the replacement price is reasonable, so there's no reason to let dogs have all the fun - these work for (some) cats too! --update; knocking a star off, because the carrot has been hit by shrinkflation! It is noticeably smaller. Still a good toy, though. 2 months on and he is not bored with playing with them.

Mr Carrot is a firm favourite for Luna. Look how happy she is in the photo. He can be carried, thrown and cuddled. He has a little hole in now after a year, but this is with Labrador and not standard dog use. The squeak is located at the top in the most stuffed part so barely gets set off (thank God). It’s not obnoxiously loud but I’m not a huge fan of the incessant squeaking that’s set off just by looking at a toy. All of my dogs toys are from this brand, and their silicone ones are excellent too

Bought one of these for my mums little dog I have since had to buy another two because it’s her favourite toy and she has a lot of toys but this is always her toy of choice ! It’s not indestructible by any means but her first one lasted a year she has now discovered that if she eats them more carrots grow!!

Nice looking toy and quality. But absolutely tiny. Much smaller than expected.

My dog loves it, perfect size for my French bulldog. Strong little teddy also has a squeaky toy in it.

holding up pretty well with Pekingese male. he loves it
