Bon Scott Have a Drink On Me: The Inside Story of Ac/DC's Troubled Frontman Review: All about Bon Scott's life. - A very interesting book. A real treasure in things i never found any where else. I enjoyed this book. Review: An intimate portrait of a complicated man who became a legend... - Out of the few Bon Scott books I've read so far, this is my favorite. It's written by his ex-wife, Irene Thornton. She tells the story of their meeting and quick courtship, their marriage and all its ups and downs, their bitter separation after the failure of his band Fraternity, Bon's near-fatal motorcycle crash and his recovery in her home, and ultimately, their breakup as he leaves domestic life behind and goes on to front AC/DC. She shares letters he wrote her from his life on the road and how she kept track of his career through the 1970s as she watched him slowly make it big. There are some very funny moments in the book and she reveals who Bon really was: a complicated and conflicted but gentle man who, once he started to love you, he would always love you. The final chapter is very touching: The last time she would see him was around New Year's Day 1980, when he came to visit her and her partner (and she was several months pregnant at the time). They stayed close and loving, even though the dynamic had changed from romance to friendship. She still loves and misses him; hopefully, he can feel her continuing love for him from the afterlife.

A personal view of Bon Scott from his ex-wife
I liked reading about a side of Bon I hadn’t heard before.

Made me double think acdc
Bon Scotts wife did an amazing job with this book, all of the history she included was amazing, and gave light to everything he had been through!

Just so so
This effort by Bon’s Wife Irene I found to be sub par, it lacks depth and a personality as well as a personal human touch one expects from someone that was close to the man. It was a bit hard for me to finish because I kept thinking that she really didn’t know Bon very well even though they were married, was very young when she married him and didn’t seem to possess the mature insight and perspective when looking back on her time with him. It was ok but be warned there really isn’t much insight into Bon I fact she was negative throughout the book and bitter even if she denies it that’s just the feeling I got. It was written in a monotone way of just the facts and got the impression she held quite a bit back.

Have a laugh, learn a little more about Bon
I love this book! I met Bon once during the "Highway to Hell" tour and he protected me from getting trampled. I have always had a soft spot for him and guys with tattoos ever since then. He died so young and so few people knew him that have written about him. I grabbed this one off the shelf as soon as I saw it. Want a peek inside that smiling, devilish tour de force? It's not meant to be anything other than one person's perspective. Bon wouldn't want us to take him too seriously...

This book is NOT about Bon!
Sadly, this was a terrible book. This was more like an autobiography of the authors life. 70 percent of the book is about her life and not about Bon. There is NO information on his untimely death. She also seems bitter in tone throughout the stories she tells. Bummer for sure.

This took quite a few weeks to arrive, it was for a birthday present so was ordered 3 weeks before needed. Book came as advertised in excellent condition and although not a fan, my partner who is a die hard Bon fan, loved it. The recommendations of this book to be purchased with another to gain an in-depth look at the man's life, love and career was very helpful and accurate.

Tolles Buch.
