We recently had new windows installed and we wanted some nice shades for our living room picture window which consists of 3 windows measuring a total of 94 inches wide by 64 inches tall. We checked out several places for custom made easy lift shades. The prices we were quoted for 2 shades measuring 23 inches wide and 1 shade measuring 48 inches wide were anywhere between $800 all the way up to $1500.00. We couldn't justify paying as much or more for the shades as we did for the windows so we decided to do a little online shopping and found these shades at Amazon.com. We were a little hesitant to purchase without seeing the product in advance but because of Amazon.com's return policy, we decided we had nothing to lose so we went and ordered them. We are SO GLAD WE DID!!!! We purchased one shade at 48 by 64 inches and two shades at 36 by 64 inches for a total of $100.00. These shades are VERY similar to the more expensive shades we've been shown. With the exception of the sizing and installation we honestly cannot see or tell any difference at all. The installation was extremely easy, the shades glide up and down just as good as the custom made shades we looked at. We did have a little problem with cutting the shades with the kitchen knife as suggested in the instructions so we used a utility knife razor instead which did an excellent job, we got a very clean and smooth cut. We did not purchase the darkening shades but these shades do filter the sun light pretty well even though that was not our main concern because the windows do all the filtering. We've only had the shades for a short time so we are a little curious and anxious to see how well and how long they hold up but for the time being, they look very nice, they definitely provide privacy and we are EXTREMELY pleased with our purchase. We have already had several very nice compliments regarding the way they look and operate....this has definitely been a wise purchase for us. We got exactly what we wanted and saved a whole lot of $$$$$! We highly recommend these shades!

Bought 2 of these, easy to install. Adhesive binds to window frame well but 3 hours after install first one fell apart. The shade disconnected from its upper assembly and fell to bottom of window. Twenty four hours later the second one did the same thing. I tried many times to lift the shade and put pressure on the shade up against the top assembly and each time it falls again after 15 to 20 minutes. Sending these back for a refund will try something else.

These shades are easy to install and attractive when installed. They allow light to pass through but provide excellent privacy. The bottom of the shade is white plastic.Each shade comes with easy to follow directions. Once you have measured the width of the window to cover, you use a kitchen knife to cut the shades to width using measurements printed on the bottom of the shade. It is somewhat difficult to cut straight on the left side but ragged ends can be trimmed. To install, you remove the covering from adhesive at the top of the shade. We have installed both by attaching to the vertical window and to the horizontal frame of a recessed window and it seems to work well either way. The adhesive seems to hold the shade firmly and the shade moves easily up and down and stays where you put it.We were surprised at how attractive the shades were when installed and how well they worked. I do not know how long they will hold up or if they will be difficult to keep clean, but they won't be worse than low cost mini-blinds.

This shade is made of very cheap plastic which you would think would make it easy to cut but its not. Hard to cut through the plastic at the top and bottom of the shade. Once hung the shade will not extend all the way and will only come part way down. Then the one side drops farther then the other. The more you play with it trying to adjust it the worse it gets. Finally got it fairly straight and level 3/4 of the way down and decided to just leave it there and not touch it or ever move it again. Will have to leave the shade in that position as I'm afraid I may not get it back in place. Do not buy spend the extra $10 or so for a better one you will save money in the long run.

This window shade is great. It blocks the sun while letting in light. Installation was easy, after you get it cut.Cutting - This was a pain to be honest. While not impossible, it is kinda hard. Imagine trying to cut a stack of about 30 sheets of paper, and that's what you have here. I'm not sure how you would cut it without having jagged pieces. I mounted mine on the inside of the windowsill, so you can't see the sides. Don't let this force you to look elsewhere, because it's not that bad just something to be aware.Mounting - Inside the windowsill, is no big deal (after you cut it to size). However, if you are mounting it outside the windowsill, I'm not sure how this would work since the sticky tape is at the top of the shade and not on the outside.The hold - I haven't had an issue with it. I've seen others complain that their's came down. I don't open/close mine very much at all, so I don't know if you needed to or if you had kids that liked to play with the shades, if you would have an issue.

I ordered two of these shades to dress my two new windows. I am very pleased with them so far! They've only been up a short time and so far they are staying put. My concern was that the adhesive wouldn't be strong enough to hold - time will tell but so far so good.Easy to measure, cut and install. The hardest part for me was peeling the ruler sticker off once I was finished cutting. They do not peel off smoothly, instead coming off in tiny little pieces. Annoying. I used a bit of water to moisten them after a bit and that made it a little easier. GooGone would work well but I don't have any.Assuming these stay where they are supposed to (don't loose their stickiness) I will purchase more in the future for other windows.

They are junk and do not stick well and will not go up anymoreWarranty is void if you trim to fit so DO NOT buy this junk a waste of money

Looks great but not for regular use. Had this set up in my kitchen where I would use it daily.A couple months later, the fabric in the middle seperated and the plastic at the bottom snapped in half.
