Working on my health and weight loss I went on the sardine diet. Only thing is I HATE fish. I bought some of the grocery store brands and had to gag the stuff down. I thought I'd give this brand a try, it was on sale for $20. for 12 cans so why not. I got them packed in water, I don't trust EVOO with 70% of olive oil on the market as fake. The fish was large, not fishy but flavorful meaty flavor. I added mustard to the fish and vinegar to the brine and it went down easily. I'm eating just one tin of sardines a day for a week and see how it goes, I might continue the plan for an extended time. These sardines I can eat every day. I was so surprised I liked them.

I hate sardines personally - even the smell is disgusting to me. However, these are not for me. I have two Siberian Huskies and sardines are supposed to be one of the best things you can supplement to a dog's diet. They get one can of these every Sunday, and these are a guaranteed way to get a happy dance out of both of them. They absolutely adore them! For pups, you want the ones packed in SPRING WATER (sodium overload issues with all other varieties), and I give them a rinse to cut the sodium intake even more (they would probably prefer I didn't as they lick every last drop from their bowls). Dry skin flare-ups for my pups have become a thing of the past. My eldest has skin allergies, but her issues have been fewer & farther between. They both seem to have more energy and be more alert. These cans are packed to the hilt with sardines, and the fish are meaty and substantial. The company practices sustainable fishing, which is a huge part of the reason I selected these sardines in the first place. I highly doubt I will support any other brands after the excellent success we've had with these. They might be a "little more expensive", but they are worth every penny (and still cheaper than I can get "inexpensive brands" at the supermarket). Thanks to the company for making such a quality product.

I think they taste good. They seems to be slightly larger than other brands and they don't fall apart. I bought them because they were half the normal price. It's going to take me years to eat 12 cans.

My family and I enjoy eating canned sardines every once in a while, though not often. However, my oldest son has acne, so he won't eat the oil-based kind we buy in bulk at Costco. I used to buy the water-based kind at our local CVS, but when I found out it was cheaper to buy it on Amazon, I bought a lot of these. My oldest son loves it because it tastes good and doesn't make his acne worse. He even says it tastes even better than the oil-based one. If you are concerned about oxidation, this water-based ones are certainly better for your health than an oil-based. It's also helpful that it has a long shelf life despite being water-based. I would purchase it again.
