This unit worked right out of the box! I threw this on my work computer for an easy secure log on. For those of you that are having some issues getting this to work correctly with Windows Hello--- Windows 10 will auto-install the driver needed for the fingerprint sensor to work. So the first time I plugged it in, the driver auto-installed but it was still not available for Windows Hello to use/setup. I just restarted my computer and it worked perfectly. I just set it up through Windows Hello and it worked without any other fuss.In regards to the build quality, its obviously a budget item from China but it still works very well. The part that inserts into the USB port is tight which not a bad thing, but when you pull it out, you will notice some grooves from where the port makes contact with the sensor. This really isnt a big deal as it probably will just hang out in the port for most people. Also there is a small kind of black sticker on the actual sensor. I think its just to cover the actual fingerprint sensor to make it look nice. My sticker was placed a little misaligned and just reminded me I bought this thing for 30 dollars. Whatever, it works flawlessly and hopefully it lasts a while.

I would not use this for office type work as most business put so much security to the computers that you would not be able to get the drivers to the device as it relies on windows update to find them.The company website that develops the hardware does not clearly show what driver is for which hardware unless you know the chip that is in your current device.

Didn't work for me and I had to return it. Make sure your Windows PC has Windows Hello activated because this fingerprint reader wasn't a recognized device.

Advertised for Windows 7 also. Not working on W7 at all. No drivers, no support, no info.Is going back.
