I've been using this in my salon beside my shampoo bowl for a few weeks. Like other people have said, the first 5 minutes will be the machine heating up. It produces a strong, steady stream of steam while running. I love the automatic shut-off when the water gets too low. The timer is convenient for tracking treatment time. I love how effective the steam is for driving in treatments or processing a toner. Just make sure you use distilled water!
