TCL 40 XE 5G T609SPP Verizon Only 64GB Black(Renewed)

After my son broke two phones in the space of 3 months, I decided to buy him the cheapest thing I could find. This was suspiciously cheap, but it said it works on Verizon so I gave it a shot. I am actually really impressed! When I saw that it was a Verizon pre-paid phone, I was afraid that it wouldn't work on my post-paid plan, but I took it to the Verizon store and they put a sim card in it and it works great. Even the performance isn't bad. Sure, it's not flagship level of processing, but I've seen phones that cost 10x what I paid for this that were a lot slower and more painful to use. My son plays games on it and hasn't complained at all about performance. I also think in my case the plastic construction is a bonus. I put a case and a screen protector on it and so far it's held up even to his abuse. This is a great option for someone who just needs a phone they can use on Verizon.

Good quality and working with Verizon. Durability and scratch resistant. Speed good, good quality on camera. Really functional for teenagers.

Phone would not connect to network as described.

The pros of this product are that the phones arrive in immaculate condition. They look nice and the system functions very well. This is not a flagship phone, so the functionality and overall quality are what you would expect of something around $200 or so. I purchased 2 of these phones for my daughter's to play games on in the car. They are both under 10 and have no need for cell service. The first phone did not require a SIM. We used our wifi in the house and Hotspot in the car for it to be able to work. The second phone made us input a SIM card and otherwise would not allow set up. We tried an old SIM from a broken phone, but that did not work. I had to take the SIM out of my Verizon phone, temporarily insert it in order to set up the phone. When I removed it, the phone was still working. If you know someone who has a functioning SIM card, you can use it for setup of the phone to use on WIFI.

Good phone for the price. Odd operating system. When you swipe up to go to all apps it shows all the apps and then when you go to select the app you want the keyboard popus so you can search for the app...the keyboard gets in the way. It took a while to get used to...BIG ISSUE I have never ran into this before. I cannot download my banking app the phone is not compatible. If this was my primary phone I would have returned it.

Bought 3 of these. Work great. My kids enjoy them

ALL OF SUDDEN MY PHONE LOST CONNECTION TO THE NEW TOWER (VERIZON) AND I HAD TO GET A REPLACEMENT. I ALSO, PURCHASE A 'BRING YOUR OWN PHONE SET' FROM TRACFONE THAT HAS AN 'A' AND 'B' SIM CARDS TO HELP WITH THE TRANSFER AND ACTIVATION OF THIS PHONE. LOVE IT. IT HAS A LARGER SCREEN AND NICE CLEAR APPEARANCE WHEN SURFING THE NET AS WELL.
