As natural looking as I could hope for....
...without having to pay fifty bucks or more. The L'Oreal Excellence Age Perfect hair color does pull dark, so I highly recommend choosing a color two shades lighter than you think you need. It's designed for deep saturation so that the grey looks like highlights and the non-grey strands look like lowlights. The more grey you have, the greater the affect. This color, like all Excellence colors in my experience (YMMV), is high shine and low damage, with a slow enough fade that I never feel compelled to refresh it sooner than my roots start showing. Is it perfect? I'm getting slight copper tones out of what is supposed to be a neutral shade, so no it's not perfect. It's also really messy to apply (drip free my patoot) but it's better than most colors in its same price class, so I'll keep it.
