Trouble-free in use; viable as a base for savoury or sweet meals/snacks
Yes, at 35g per 100g (18g per 50g ‘serving’), this pancake mix is quite high in protein, and at 350 Kcal per 100g (175g per 50g) it is quite energy-dense too. And, at 6.7g per 100g, the fibre isn’t bad.More of the energy than I would have expected is derived from fat (22g per 100g), but very little of that is saturated fat, so presumably it mostly comes from chickpeas and peas and is unlikely to do any harm. The powder is fairly easy to mix to an almost smooth paste with water. If you want to be a purist about small lumps remaining, you will have to work to mix them in (or use a mechanical mixer) but, having tolerated a few up to the point of pouring the mix in a pan, I haven’t noticed them at all from that point onwards – and certainly not in the eating. So they don’t matter. The mix behaves well in the pan too. I have made quite a thick pancake in a small pan (20cm/6” diameter base), turning it once when the whole was firm enough, and back again when almost ready to serve. No problems. In the eating, the taste – doubtless enhanced in the estimation of my taste buds by the frying surface having been coated in olive oil – is quite interesting in itself, if rather sweet. I wouldn’t want to add further sweetness with a topping, but one could; that’s just my preference.I have, however, used the pancake as a base for a savoury snack/meal, and that works, even with the sweetness of the base.

Tastes alright, good price.

Tastes nice but messy and awful to make - don’t even resemble pancakes!
The mix is awful and sticky. Doesn’t cook well at all.

Tasty morning breakfast or dessert treat
Now I’ve never tried protein mix pancakes before so this was certainly a pleasant first experience.Mixes well with either 70ml of water or your favourite plant based milk such as oat or soya. Two scoops (scoop included) gives you on average the 50g recommended serving, if you are really keen you can use weighing scales to hit the exact measurements if you are macro counting. Quick mix with a whisk and you have enough mixture for either one large pancake or two smaller pancakes for stacking. The maple syrup taste is very pleasant, not over the top and not sickly sweet..just the right balance. Each serving gives you 18g of protein from the powder, 22g carbs and 3.4g of fibre for 175kcal…plus additional from your milk if that is your liquid preference. Top with some fruit and yoghurt and you have tasty breakfast or even a post-workout dessert treat for less than 300kcal total.

Good for the money
Been using this in my smoothies and it works okay. I did have a vanilla flavor before and I have to say I do prefer the added sweetness. It does what it is supposed to do but the flavor is very bland but hey it is just plain whey lol. Good health benefits tho and it's a great price.
