Works very well, if a little expensive
These are basically the same as Becton Dickinson lancets that I used in a medical setting in the mid-1980s.Unfortunately, those don't seem to be available any more. They came in a pack of 100 for a few quid, so these seem very expensive to me. Modern lancets for e.g. taking a blood drop sample tend to be a lot more chunky and not suitable for this application at all.HOWEVER, these do work extremely well for removing splinters. Relatively pain free and very effective. The cost should not be too much of an issue unless you are particularly prone to splinters.

This is to remove splinters
I was not expecting this! I thought I was getting a salve to draw out thorn or whatever ..these are tiny sharp scalpel type implements! Actually they are useful!

Almost half the packets were empty
This may or may not be a good product, however at least 7 of the 20 paper packets in the box I received were either totally empty or, worse, contained thin strands of metal. Really poor quality control and potentially dangerous!!!

Perfect to have
Perfect set to have on hand, at home in a medical box, or a diaper bag. These really help get splinters out. Small little size box, easy to store anywhere.

Very useful
These were easy to use. Being a mom of very active boys they get into everything and they do get splinters from time to time. It was nice to have these handy. I have used them and they are very easy to use

Worked better than my tweezers
Hope the pixs are useful 👍! I was skeptical about this purchase but after what felt like hours trying to attack the splinter with a pair of tweezers I gave up. The splinter was a flush one with only a hair sticking out. The hair was enough to hit a nerve every time it brush up against anything, even the godforsaken thread on a sweater getting caught on this thing would be enough to make me jump like a mama’s scooter!!I ended up picking up a liquid bandaid that’s pretty much similar to nail polish and polishing over the sucker. I did 2-3 coats over it so there was a nail polish bubble shape mound over the splinter. Once it dried It was perfect! It completely removed the pain of brushing up on the splinter at bay while this splinter remover arrived in the mail 3 days later (placed the order late). There is no way I’d have survived otherwise because I type for a living and even the typing triggered the stings of stabbing myself since it was my pointer finger that was stung. I was able to work with the liquid bandaid which was awesome but the bandaid does pop off after a day or two. So I was reapplying a new coat at least once a day.Now when this thing arrived in the mail I was hesitant cause the sucker is pointy as heck. I went slow. I pulled up and apart the skin around the splinter. This opened the hole up which was important because my liquid bandaid had residue left on the area too. The skin around the splinter was already hardened and so it was not painful pulling on it. This might not be the case if you just got the splinter. Once I open up the skin, I was able to find the side of the splinter, and pull it up and out with the splinter out tool. I can’t recommend this enough. A must have for any first aid kit. I also love that it came with a glass case since it is a sharp item. Hope this was helpful to you and appreciate the feedback.

Perfect product for the problem
Ignore the strange appearance and slightly sketchy looking packaging; this is the right product for the problem. If it's unclear from the picture what this is, this is a package of 20, individually wrapped, sterile pieces of metal; one end ridged for better grip, the other with a flat, arrow-shaped tip. They are single use, which is perfect to avoid concerns of infection.I had a small, wooden splinter in the bottom of the my foot, about a centimeter long, lying flat under the skin. I was unable to remove it by trying to push it out the entry hole, and it was stuck in there for 2 days, extremely painful when any pressure was applied (a big problem on the bottom of my foot). I ordered this product, and it arrived the next morning, and I was able to easily and nearly painlessly follow the instructions to poke a hole into the area where the sliver was, then remove it by pushing from the opposite end. It slid out easily, along with a small amount of pus, for instant relief!Thank you so much; I wish this was a better known product! The remaining 19 in the package will last me for ages, but even if I run out, I'll be sure to order more, so that I'm able to more quickly remove stuck splinters in the future.
