The lava rock work very well in our propan fire pit. The flame disperse through lava rock and produce a nice glow.

Seemed to be lighter than the 5lbs advertised.... BUT does the job! I use them for the open bake method for sourdough baking and they work really well for that! I'd say the value for the money is good since you can re use them but still can't give 5 stars since I'm pretty sure my bag was missing some rocks.
