Does what it’s meant to do. Gives you a good sense of where your club face is pointing. Also great for picking up metal stuff you drop behind things your hand can fit or reach.

A no frills, no gimmicks device that magnetically attaches to your clubface to let you VISUALLY understand the orientation of the face at any point in your swing. I needed this to reinforce that concept that what I was doing coming into impact was correct. I was constantly keeping the face closed on backswing and more closed on downswing, resulting in constant straight pulls. Once I attached this device to my 7-iron I could get the visual reinforcement that I needed to let my lead forearm pronate slightly going back in order to maintain squareness of the face, and then slightly supinate on the way back down. If you are a visual learner as many golfers are, and have issues with club face orientation, this gizmo is great. My only negative is that most drivers are non-magnetic, so I was not able to use this with my driver as is. However, I fixed that problem with a simple VELCRO disc—- I stuck the hook disc onto this gizmo and attached the loop disc to the center of driver face. Problem solved!

What this demonstrates is that what may appear to be a very open clubface is actually aiming right at the pin. Also nice for telling you whether you are going to clear that tree. 8 or 9 iron? This might tell you.

This alignment rod does exactly what it's supposed to. It has a strong magnet that sticks securely to the club, and the build quality feels solid—definitely a step above some of the cheaper, multi-piece alternatives. It’s a one-piece design, which makes it more durable and less finicky to use. Overall, it gets the job done and does exactly what it promises. Great tool to have in the bag for swing alignment and setup practice.

I'm not sure this is much of a training tool. Perhaps if you are just starting out, it can give you feedback on club face, but I've been playing for about 3 years, and I don't think it's telling me anything that I don't already know. Good quality construction, though.
