BEST Vacuum I've Ever Bought
I am IN LOVE with this 2-motor Kenmore vacuum. Don't be jelly! The suction power is fantastic. This thing practically drags me along. The wheels travel smoothly over my wooden floors and area rugs without a snag. I LOVE that the power head has lights. I now see dust I didn't with my old vacuum. I get migraines and I appreciate the light guiding me to the dusty areas that I need to clean. I also LOVE that there's a Dead Man Switch on the handle itself. I can now switch from rotating brushes to no rotation to off, if I accidentally suck up a tissue or a sock or something. Beautiful! I live in a one-story, three BR ranch. The cord is long enough to reach all the way into my bedroom bathroom, back to my kitchen, by my back door, etc. with the cord plugged in centrally in my hallway. My ONE qualm with this vacuum is that the dirt cup doesn't snap back on as easily as my last vacuum did. I have an arthritic left foot and found myself cursing while struggling to put the dirt cup back on. I recommend reading the manual and practicing popping the dirt cup on and off, before you get it dirty. Years ago I had a Kenmore that lasted quite a while, until the wire to the power head broke. I hope Kenmore has resolved that sticky wicket, by now. This Kenmore is bagless and I am thrilled that the filter is also washable. No pain looking for filter replacements. The handle length is also adjustable, so I can set it at a comfortable height for me to swing back and forth and to reach places I need to reach. So many thoughtful features!I'm looking forward to this vacuum sucking efficiently for a good, long time.Other than that, this Kenmore is built tough. Solid, but not ridiculously heavy.

So far, it's great
Update 9/2023 We could not figure out the issue and the warranty was over so we threw it away lol It was just not worth it and way too heavy and large to vacuum with to go spend the money to have it fixed by a repair person.Update two years later 2/20/23, the floor head backing does not stand up anymore and it keeps spitting things back out. We can only use the extension wand and attachments. It doesn't suction like it used to and there is no clog. I'm gonna take it apart to clean it soon, replace the belt, and check to see if the brush roll needs to be replaced. I will update again. But yea, so far, I wish I didn't even buy it. Vacuuming over shag rugs has started to weigh on me. Plus, it's such a heavy vacuum to move around. Two reasons I would not buy it if I could go back.I will update my review later if a problem arises but so far, everything is fine. I purchased this to vacuum 2" pile shag rugs, laminate, and tile floors plus curtains. This vacuum does pack a very good suction power, does pick up the kind of dog hair that is needle like which sticks stubbornly into things, and for sure works on shag rugs. It works so well that you'll have to pick the rug up and vacuum everything that falls onto the floor under it.The only 4 things I don't like about this vacuum is it's heavy imo, the wheels don't pull over carpet very well, it's hard to vacuum over carpet, and the cord will get extremely hot if you don't pull it all of the way out. When you empty the chamber, I recommend taking it outside and hanging it in your trash can because it will fly everywhere if you try to do it in your small little kitchen trash can. None of these things made me want to return it. To each their own.

GOOD quality, light weight
I like this it is very very light weight. IT cleans well all floors, ceramic, wood and our various carpet heights. WE have a long hair cat who sheds alot. We are able to vacuum quickly and spot vacuum w/ease. NO issues love that the canister can just drop open over the trash to get rid of the dust and dirt it picks up. The whole compartment pulls off the body of the vacuum for ease of cleaning and washing it out if necessary! We have allergies in all seasons and this is wonderful for every day. I do not see any dust flying out or around like other brands. THis is definitely a keeper. I hope it lasts. Only had a few weeks. Use daily b/c we traffic in and out alot out of our house.UPDATE 1yr+ later: Still running like a dream. Have washed the filter n canister a few times, no issues. Great buy. We’ve had $xx.xx models that did not work this well. Cat hair is picked up, dust is non existent from the exhaust of the vaccumn. It does flip over now n then, as I am hard on my things. I yank n pull, n drag about. I use a magic eraser to get off scuff marks.

I really wanted to like this vacuum cleaner.....
It's been nearly a year since I got this vacuum cleaner and I feel that it's sufficient time to really know how something works to give a proper and honest review. I originally bought this vacuum because I have had Kenmore vacuums in the past and had a great experience with them. They lasted a long time (my first one lasted over 10 years!) and did a great job getting all of the hairs, dust, dirt, etc off of my floors and carpets. This one is not one to rave about in the least. We have 4 dogs who shed a lot and this vacuum, although says it's "pet friendly", really isn't. It has a hard time getting fur off of the carpet and couches--we have a long haired dachshund, a short haired chihuahua-husky mix, a long haired Cavalier King Charles-chihuahua mix, and a double coated Golden/Labrador/Shepherd mix, so fur is a "thing" in our household. The longer fur gets caught up in the roller bristles and you have to use scissors to cut the fur out. There is no floor attachment, so you only have the motorized head, which I thought would be ok since it's a vacuum designed with pets in mind, but the reality is that you still need that floor attachment to really get all of the dust/dirt/fine hairs off the floor. I ended up buying a separate attachment, but I feel that this should have come with one to begin with. The suction power is average--not really any better than Kenmore vacuums I've had in the past. In fact, I feel the old vacuums were better and had stronger suction power. The bagless feature was also another thing I thought I would like (my past vacuums have been bagged), but in the end, it makes a more of a mess when emptying the canister and not something I would recommend if you have any type of allergies or asthma issues; or just don't want to have to clean up after cleaning because the dust goes everywhere when the canister opens; even when you have the canister inside of the trashcan to minimize the dust cloud that is inevitably created when you empty it.Unfortunately, it's long past the return window, so I'm stuck with this vacuum until I'm either fed up enough with it, or it breaks, but for the price and for what it doesn't do, I would not recommend this vacuum to anyone who has pets unless said pet is a goldfish.

Canisters Rule, Uprights Just...
This is the third Kenmore canister vacuum, I've owned in my lifetime. The first one I bought in 1984 and I lost it to my second divorce. Immediately after my divorce, I bought a second Kenmore canister in 2003 and it broke in 2015, when a critter damaged the hose. After a 4 year love-hate affair with a Eureka, I was extremely pleased to see that Amazon began selling Kenmore products. My last Kenmore was a model 27914, so I was already familiar with all the parts; and only had to spend a few minutes becoming familiar with the canister portion. In fact, I’ll bet that if I kept the old accessories from the 27914, everything would be compatible. The only difference in the accessories, is the “Upholstery PowerMate” tool is now called the “Pet PowerMate” tool.Unlike previous iterations of the Kenmore canister vacuum, the accessories now sit in a caddy, attached to the telescoping wand; instead of inside a storage compartment built into the canister/motor assembly. Doing this reduced the vacuum’s cost. However, the caddy does not firmly secure the crevice tool and there is no place to store the Pet PowerMate tool. This may lead to “gravity anxiety” when using the telescoping wand, and having to keep track of where you last left the upholstery/pet tool. The canister is supported by 2 large, fixed, rear wheels; and one smaller, swivel, front wheel. Due to the physics of how debris is moved through the dust cup, it is critical that you only operate the vacuum when all three wheels are on the same level (surface). This warning is not in the instruction manual, but is displayed on the motor base, and can only be seen when the dust cup assembly is removed (first picture). In addition to thermal protection of the motor, this model has a motor protection valve. Similar to the relief valve on a pressure cooker; the motor protection valve opens if an insufficient airflow is passing through the hose & dust cup assembly (second picture). When the valve opens, you’ll know, because there will be a sudden change in pitch (high to low) from the motor. The valve will close, only when a sufficient airflow is detected moving through the hose & dust cup assembly. At the front of the handle & hose assembly, is a suction control valve. Its purpose is to control the amount of suction force at the “business end” of the hose. It works by manually opening and closing a vent at the front of the handle (third picture). Keeping the vent slightly open reduces the chances of unnecessary open/close cycling of the motor protection valve. Even when the vent is fully open, the suction force is so great that; if you get your fingers too close to the vent opening, you can feel vacuumed debris hitting your fingers at an alarmingly high velocity.Routine maintenance is straightforward, as per the instruction manual; although I strongly recommend that you practice disassembly & reassembly of the dust cup, motor and filter assemblies, when you first unpack the vacuum; while everything is “still clean.”Speaking of filters, because longevity seems to be intrinsic to Kenmore canister vacuums, you might want to purchase 1 or 2 extra sets of primary and exhaust filters. No need for extra agitator drive belts, as I have never had one go out on me. Based on my previous experiences with Kenmore canister vacuums; you can expect an average unit lifetime of at least 12 to 20 years.

Perfect and lightweight vacuum
I love it! Adjustable extension on it, retractable cord, large a waste capacity, easy to wash up, easy storage, and we have lots of dog hair which brush roller went right over carpet and hardwood floor, and underneath all furniture. Finally vacuuming isn't backbreaking!

Vacuum Doesn't Last
I actually thought that this was the vacuum of my dreams! It was easy to put together and easy to use and clean. Good brand name and price was somewhat affordable. I have hardwood floors and area rugs throughout the house, along with shedding dogs and cats. The vacuum picked up EVERYTHING including a deep cleaning on the rugs and left nothing behind. Bought in November and used every other day. Mid January the suction stopped working where the top attached and the lights no longer came on. I believe it to be the little medal pins that connected in the top part. No way to fix so returned. Got $money back minus the tax. Really thought that this was it for vacuums! It seems that everything you buy these days is made cheap and is considered a disposable item. I am looking for something that lasts for a long time, and works! Also noticed that this vacuum has now been discontinued and is not coming back in stock so makes you wonder...

It does a great job on carpets as well as floors
We have a chordless stick vacuum which is decent but not very powerful. This blows it out of the park. The suction on this thing is awesome. This is easy to use and easy to clean out too.I really love that it is bagless. From online reviews, the bagged Kenmore 600 Series was really recommended but I didn't want one where I kept needing to buy bags for the vacuum.Funny enough on the vacuum canister of this one, it says its 600 series :D but nowhere on the listing did it mention that.It is a bit on the heavy side but since the canister is pulled at the back when you vacuum, you don't feel it.The easy setting from floor to carpet on the wand is brilliant and with the quick foot settings on the head you can change the height for the fluffier carpets and back to the floor. On the stairs, the head is quite big but they provided a small 'pet powemate' that does the job pretty well, not that we have a pet.The motor on the vacuum heads for both the main one and the powermate are brilliant for the carpets and agitates it to clean very well. Thus overall I am happy with the purchase and highly recommend it.It is surprising that this doesn't have as much reviews, maybe because they have 2 different models on the same page.Make sure you get the purple one with dual motors and the pet power mate. From what I can tell the blue one is cheaper but less powerful than the purple one.

Quality for price this is a winner vaccum!
I received it today i did some researches to try to find the right one without breaking the piggy bank and i am very please with it. I unpacked it as i received it because i was out of vaccum since a while and have animals. My first try was on my small carpet with the adjustable spinning brush and OMG the carpet turned like a new one! The suction on this machine is very good and easy to empty the canister. People who are saying, it heavy, well i think if you want a engine that sucks dirt you need a bigger engine so weight is not a big deal, i prefer something that works and it does! Happy now my place is clean!

Me likey
This is the second one I've bought. The first one I bought 14 or 15 years ago and was surprised I could basically buy the same one. Our old one was in pretty bad shape. For those like me that don't read the manual I'm going to say that there are 2 filters on it you need to check, change, clean or replace. There's one on top and one at the bottom back of the machine that I never knew about (yes I'm an idiot). The other reason I mention it though is that my old machine lasted 14 or 15 years without ever changing the back filter. The old one was made by Kenmore and the new one is by a different company. The new one is pulling crap out of our carpet that has obviously been there for years and that my poor old and abused one left behind. We had an issue with the power head and had to get a replacement through Amazon but since then it's been working awesome. It's well worth the extra money in my opinion. Make sure to order the optional floor tool though. I will also say that I've used the little power head on everything from beds and couch cushions to my car interior and floor mats. It doesn't get into the really tight spots but does a good job everywhere it does fit.

Bien mais ?
Compact, de bons accessoires d'inclus, facile à nettoyer et vider.Mais manque de puissance, difficile de nettoyer en profondeur les moquettes.

Received a used and defective product
I didn't even have the chance to test this product! The connector on the pipe is broken and it cannot be securely attached to the power head. Found lots of dust/dirt inside the canister. There is obviously sign that the product was used and broken. Very upset about the purchase.

2nd one because I loved the first so much
I finally killed my original Kenmore after almost 15 years. I didn’t realize there was a bottom filter that needed to be regularly replaced and I burnt it up. Lesson learned.I looked at buying replacement parts but being in Canada, shipping and currency exchange was brutal. In the end, it was a better deal to purchase brand new.I have 4 cats and a dog and the pet attachment for upholstery is my favourite part. My second favourite part is the suction could suck the hat off your head from across the room.Cord length is good. Hose length could be 2 feet longer. It isn’t too heavy to carry between floors and the noise level is typical for a vacuum. Definitely good value if you have pets. Just don’t forget to replace the filter.
