So far so impressed
The Maxcom is billed as "Women's Jewellery Smartwatch". It is not that feminine - but not in a bad way at all. It's actually a surprisingly fun little watch. I paired it with an iPhone with no trouble - it might be even easier in a purely Android setup. As I said however - no problems with pairing and setup (once you've downloaded the oddly named GloryFit app.The only comparison I can make is with an Apple Watch. Obviously there's a large price difference and it's surprising how much value you feel like you're getting from the FW44. The colour, strap, screen are all perfectly acceptable. The screen is actually really good - it's clear and bright and I really like a round smart watch - it makes a refreshing change from the Apple Watch. It can even play the audio book on my phone (and therefore music etc.)It comes with quite a lot of features and functions and I've yet to experiment with them more fully and to get a feel for how effective they are. The weather app is pretty spot on and generally matches what my AW says. Need to do some further exercising and comparisons with other sources to check heart rate measurement. It will count steps and the exercise options range from Outdoor Running, Mountaineering (?), Boating, Judo, Hula Hooping and Stair Stepping and beyond. Not sure, in some cases, what is being measured. One downside - I think - is the lack of water proofing, possibly also the lack of water resistance - it's not clear as I can't find anything definitive. The blurb (Amazon) says that the screen can be set to "AOD" (Always On Display) though there is also talk of the Gold 2 and it's not really clear if some features only belong to Gold rather than Silver. All in all if you're looking for an economically priced smart watch - with what seems to be pretty decent battery life - especially perhaps for a younger person - the Maxcom FW44 is definitely worthy of consideration.
