The size of the Union Jack is larger than most socks available. Still subtle under trousers.

These socks are soft and stretchy and would fit most feet (I'm female, shoe size 7.5). I chose these Union Jack socks because the blue is quite a dark navy, and gives a nice contrast. There are lots of threads on the inside, as you can see from my photo, which I've never seen before in a sock, but they don't affect the comfort of the sock.
