Mestemacher Bread Whole Rye, 17.6-Ounce (Pack of 6)

I buy this bread because I have a wheat intolerance. I have tried most of the different kinds. They are all good. I buy just the rye recipes. I only use them of toast or maybe to spread with peanut butter or quacamole. I really like the flavor of of all of them. They actually are better priced than gluten free breads and healthier for you. This is a dense bread more on the drier side. I always keep it wrapped and in the fridge. I have never found mold on it and have been using this for about a year now. There are seven slices in each pack and I cut them in half to make my toast, one slice is to long for the toaster. I slice = one serving.

Best bread in the world. Delicious, whole grain, organic. You can’t go wrong with this bread. I order it by the six pack so I always have it. I freeze what I don’t immediately use.

My girlfriend is German and when I went over there I was surprised that one of their favorite appreciative terms is "super". We don't use that back here in the United States very often but over in Germany it's a very common expression. Anyway, that's my opinion of this bread, It's super. I heed it in the microwave and put a little salt and olive oil on it and I love it just like that though I also warm it and have peanut butter and jam on it and use it for bread in general. It's whole grain and the nice thing about it is that when you run out of a regular bread it lasts forever especially in the refrigerator where I keep it and it's just a great backup I thought, but now, truly, I prefer it to almost any other bread it's just so scrumptious anyway yeah I'll stop raving about it but it's good stuff and very nutritious.

Very healthy bread that toasts well in a pop-up toaster and pairs well with nut butters and guacamole. Buying it in quantity makes it affordable. Also very tasty. Enjoy.

I first tried this bread after I bought it from Big Lots where it would sell for $2.00 to $3.00 dollars. However, after trying several variations and getting used to eating it (and enjoying it so much) Big Lots didn't have any more and I never saw it anywhere else although I looked for it in the local grocery stores and where I live that is only Wal-Mart Super Centers and Food Lion. Therefore, I was elated when I saw it on Amazon while browsing the gourmet food section. This bread is delicious especially when toasted. It tastes really good with butter, cheese and jams and jellies. You can probably make sandwiches with it too although I would advise toasting it first as the bread has a tendency to crumble untoasted. As a matter of fact, toasting the bread gives it a whole different texture as I am not that fond of the bread untoasted. You only get about seven or eight slices of bread and although the bread is oblong and bigger than the average slice of bread paying $3.00 for seven or eight slices of oversized bread ain't cheap but to me it is worth it as it is almost like a delicacy. Anyway, people spend their money on what is important to them. By the way, the bread is healthy, nutritious and full of whole grain and fiber. Therefore, it is good for you. A product that is good for you and taste good to you is a winner in my book.
