TomTom Motorcycle Sat Nav Rider 550 Premium,4.3" screen, updates via WiFi,TomTom Traffic and Speedcams, World Maps, Motorcycle POI's, inc Car Mounting Kit, RAM Anti-theft solution and Protective Case

Used this now in a few countries where mobile phone signals or remote areas mean you need something more reliable. Used in South Africa Kruger National Park where I was only on dirt tracks and 50 miles from nearest reserve and it navigated perfectly. Similar use in the Australian outback, India and Vietnam. Maps always perform as they do using locally in the UK so the lifetime premium maps mean I will be using this for many years without need to upgrade or pay for add ons. Love the ways the preplanned routes can be uploaded to Tom Tom MyDrive and then synced to the device over wifi without having to use cables. Recommend MyRouteApp for planning trips before transferring the gpx files into Mydrive. My Garmin was a chore to use before I purchased this

I bought two of these - one for my car and the other for my motorcycle. So far I have had one fitted in my car and I am impressed with the screen's clarity and ease of reading. I like that the device is easily removable from the mounting and the overall size - device + mounting, fits neatly at the end of the dashboard and doesn't affect the view out of the windscreen. I haven't had to use the route planner yet.

Superb manufacturing quality but compared to others the software is lacking. It can't even find the town I live in and the address search although it works is not intuitive. Notification of the next turn is fine if you only have one manoeuvre but on a two lane offramp be prepared to have to cut across other traffic.

Everything I wanted in one package and because the car mount has a USB port I was able to charge battery and update the sat. nav. indoors before I had wired up the 12 volt bike system on the bike. I don't know about battery life as I am in 3 months lock down, but this will always be connected to power when in use in car or on bike. I fitted Brotect Airglass screen protector straight away and a Wunderlich Glare Shield which was not cheap but fits very well. Spending too long looking at your sat. nav. through the glare can have negative health benefits and damage your bike.

Bought for the intention of using on a motorcycle, but because there is no USB connectivity for a motorcycle it would require hard wiring direct to the battery. The car mount includes a USB connection but not the motorcycle mount .

I’ve owned this TomTom Rider 550 for a little while but only just fitted it to my motorbikeThe RAM fitting kit supplied is fantastic but just a little bulky. However I fitted it with no problems whatsoever. I’ve managed to fit it to my Honda Rebel 500 right next to the speedo and I am able to view it landscape or portraitI’ve just had my first ride with it and it’s fantasticI also purchased some earbuds, the Soundcore by Anker Life A1’s, which paired instantly. I’m only using the right earbud and the instructions from the TomTom are incredibly clear via the A1’sI would very highly recommend the Soundcore by Anker Life A1 earbuds while you’re using the TomTomMy Arai helmet is a tight fit but the Anker A1 earbud in my right ear just doesn’t budge while donning my helmet. Definitely buy the Anker A1 earbuds to go with the Rider 550, seriously you won’t be disappointed. The sound quality is amazing and the TomTom Rider 550 instructions come through extremely clearlyI did order a set of ‘in helmet’ speakers but decided against them in favour of the brilliant Anker A1’sThe Rider 550 is the tops! Very very highly recommendedUPDATE:It is impossible to connect this TomTom to the TomTom MyDrive app. However there is a workaround so you can get live Traffic. If you are having issues with this please ask a question and I’ll answer it for you. Also the review by ‘AP1’ that says it’s impossible to connect both your phone AND Bluetooth headset is incorrect, you definitely can

Great for a motorbike, easy to use but Tom Tom app doesn't work on my phone, it says the app is for an older version. So only four stars as can't use to full potential
