Fotodiox Lens Mount Adapter, M39 to M42 (39mm - 42mm Thread) Adapter for Leica, Canon, Nikon, Carl Zeiss, Pentax, Leica

I bought a M39 mounted Helios 44, and couldn’t for the life of me figure out what m39 mount to get. Finally I found this little piece of metal and screwed it into the Fotasy m42 adapter to e mount. Worked like a charm!

VERY happy customer here!I'd previously purchased two of these on a popular auction site for my Russian Helios M39 44-2, so I could use it with an M42 speedbooster on my BMPCC4K. Neither of those crappy M39 to M42 adapters from the auction site would screw on properly and allow me to attach an MFT adapter, speedbooster, nothing! I'd brought this to that seller's attention. I received no answer, but eventually got a refund. After purchasing two duds on that auction site, I'd decided to take a chance here on this one, and this fits EVERYTHING PERFECTLY. Finally, I am using my bokeh monster Helios on my favorite camera!

I saw that the other reviews stated that this mount has a high potential of getting stuck on the lens and/or the mount, which originally detoured me from purchasing it. Left with no other mounting options for my first generation Helios-44 with 13 aperture blades, I went for it and used it with my Fotodix M42 to M43 adapter, and it worked fine. It's never even gotten close to jamming up, but I can see how this could happen if one exerted themselves by tightening it as much as possible. Even if this did occur, it seems like you could use some needle nose pliers or something to loosen it up. The bottom line is that it gets the job done, but just be careful as you should with any sort of adapter that you attach your lens. I just had to write this review because I didn't want people in the same situation as me to not buy this adapter because two people had a bad experience with it. It hasn't happened here yet, but I will update my review if any jamming issues occur. The only negative I found is that it's easy to lose this adapter because it's so thin.

It lacks the cutouts for easy removal. Hopefully I can make my own cuts without ruining. "Thanks," I guess.

I have always been happy with Fotodiox products. I have many of their step-down and step-up rings and adaptors such as this. This adaptor is no different. Well made with acceptable tolerances, a good fit on the lens and made of metal.You should be aware that you cannot use this adaptor to connect a M39 lens directly to your camera unless you have an M42 mount camera. To connect an M39 lens to a Canon or Nikon you need an adaptor to go from M39 to your camera mount not this adaptor. You can also use this to connect to an M42 to Canon/Nikon mount. So that would be two adaptors (as shown in the product photos) as follows M39 to M42 plus M42 to Canon EOS or Canon FD or Nikon F.So you can use these adaptors to mount the lens but of course everything is manual and focus distance will be limited. You will probably need a focusing helicoid adaptor to use the lens if you expect more than close focus. Hope this helps to shed some light on these adaptors.

Bought a Mir-1b with (what I guess is) a non-standard M39 mounting. The adapter which was bundled with the lens didn't work at all, so I bought this one given the high reviews and low price (local store here wanted ~$90 for an adapter..). It worked perfectly on the lens, and no issues at all fitting it into my M42 adapter, either. Didn't even have to remove the spacers inside the lens to preserve infinity focus!

Excellent product. Well made. Exactly what I needed to make my Russian Helios 44 lens (M39) to M42 fit a Fotasy M42/N Z adapter and focus correctly. With the Nikon Z the image stabilization is in the body so I can't really rate that (other it works).

very good allows me to mount my EL Nikor 50mm f2.8 enlarger lens onto my canon via an adapter for macro work.

To be able to use a Russian Helios 44-2 lens with a rare M39 mount onto my Sony A7s camera, the ring is attached to an M42-EOS adapter which is attached to EOS-NEX adapter. Now I have focus, even to infinity. Very happy!

Wenn man bei einem Objektivadapter das Auflagemaß beibehalten will und nur das Gewindemass (z.B. M39 zu M42) verändern möchte, dann ist dieser Gewindering zu empfehlen. Er ist sehr gut und passgenau verarbeitet und haltbar - mit 10 € allerdings auch etwas teuer.

Das gelieferte Produkt hat keine Kerben, die notwendig sind, um einen festsitzenden Adapter zu entfernen. Ansonsten ist die Verarbeitung und die Passgenauigkeit sehr gut.

Great step-up-ring! Most of my vintage lenses are m42, so I have adapters to match. This step-up ring lets me use my few m39 rangefinder lenses with my m42 adapters. Highly recommended!
