Does this cut out when temp reached?

The fan keeps going but the actual cooling cuts out till temp rises again.

Can this effectively cool an open-space kitchen-conservatory of 35 SQM?

I have my bedroom of 20 sqm and in 7-10 min it is cool. For 35 sqm I think probably in 15 min you will feel it. I am very happy with this product, I bought it last year and till today works perfectly fine.

This says it runs off battery, is that correct? And how long would each charge last if so? Thanks

It has a battery in the remote only. My battery is still plodding along, so cannot say how long it lasts.
