RUCI Authentic Sri Lankan Red Coconut Pol Sambol, A Great Taste Award Winner, Shreds of Coconut with Onions, Dried Red Chillies and Lime

was skeptic after reading so many reviews where people said that the taste was not as expected but went ahead to try it and was very happy i chose to go ahead to buy. I appreciate one of the user who mentioned they mixed it with yoghurt and it was mild and tasted good, i tried it today and can compliment and thank for suggesting it. I strongly recommend for those who have been used to coconut chutney taste from young age. It is pretty much dry like a hard paste but once mixed with water or yoghurt, it tastes very very good for some dosas or idllies or even just eat with rice as a side dish.

I've bought a few products from RUCI and they can be very hit and miss. This one is the worst by far - I certainly didn't get any real flavours of coconut, herbs, spices or chilli as advertised, just a horrible taste of something like cheap bubblegum. A total waste of £5 + postage, as it's going straight into the bin. Nasty stuff indeed.

This was the second time I have received a bad jar of this item. Not sure if it’s a bad batch but that’s £20 wasted now . It’s covered in mould - 2nd jar I haven’t even opened as I can see it’s already spoilt from the outside

Absolutely disgusting! I'm srilankan so I know what it should taste of , this stuff tastes sour and off! Straight in the bin , absolutely disgusted!

Delicious flavour! Fresh and light, all the ingredients go so well together - the coconut supplies sweetness and the chillies make the heat, with lovely overtones of lime... Brings good memories of a happy holiday in Sri Lanka!
