For a home theater, starting with a Sonos soundbar opens the door for adding other Sonos speakers and a Sonos subwoofer. The sound bar, while using the Sonos application on your smartphone, will recognize other speakers and a subwoofer in the room. You also can configure the speakers to work separately, or they can be part of a surround sound system tied to the Sonos sound bar. The nice thing about each of the system audio components is that individually, you can touch the component (a speaker or soundbar for example) and control the room sound level, so you don't always have to go to the Sonos app on your smartphone to do so. You can get great sound for your entertainment system without requiring a receiver and complicated wiring. Generally, you just need: • A power cable • An HDMI cable for connecting to a TV • Preferably an Ethernet cable so all the devices can work over your Wi-Fi network • The Sonos subwoofer can work wirelessly, without requiring an Ethernet cable connection which is optional
