IT IS NOT COCOA. This is a bait and switch.
This is NOT COCOA, THIS IS MADE WITH CAROB ( Carob is the first ingredient which means that it makes up 50-90% of the product, cocoa is the second ingredient, I am guessing it has 3 specks of cocoa). I AM ANGRY AND DISSAPPOINTED on CocoaVia's bait and switch tactic. CocoaVia changed the formulation and it's calling it by the same name. They should called it WHAT IT IS CAROB Via. Carob and Cocoa are two different plants. Needless to mention that since CocoaVia is now using carob instead of cocoa, this product doesn't taste the same and it smells awful. WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE FOOLING CocoVia. ONE WHIFF OF THIS tells you it's not the same. SHAME ON YOU CocoaVia. SHAME ON YOU FOR TRYING TO DECEIVE PEOPLE. I have been buying CocoVia Cardio Health since 2022. I had a subscription for Cocoa Via. Now.... I unsubscribed. I was very happy with the old product (the one made of cocoa). Now, I have to find something else. Thanks, CocoVia for RUININ a perfectly good product. I want to thank the nice Amazon customer representative who attended me and was able to refund my money. thank you.

The label of ingredients is NOT misleading. Other reviews here are misinformed
Other reviews here lambast CocoaVia for deceptive labeling and claims. Saying it is not true cocoa, that the main ingredient is carob. Wrong! I don't understand how someone would take the time to write a review but not actually take the time to understand what they are writing about... CocoaVia explicitly confirmed they added carob powder as a non-active coloring agent to give a rich chocolate look. The primary misunderstanding comes down to how labels are structured under FDA rules, specifically regarding where the "Supplement Facts" box ends and the "Other Ingredients" list begins. By law, a supplement label is split into two entirely separate sections:The Supplement Facts Panel: This lists the active, therapeutic ingredients. On CocoaVia bottles, Cocoapro® Cocoa Extract is the sole active ingredient, providing the guaranteed 500mg or 750mg of pure cocoa flavanols. Other Ingredients: This list, usually located at the very bottom, contains inactive excipients like binders, flow agents, and colorings. Because CocoaVia transitioned to a vegetarian capsule shell, they added a pinch of carob powder right at the front of this list to act as a natural, plant-based food coloring. It is listed first in this subsection simply because it weighs slightly more than the chemical flow agents. The carob powder in CocoaVia functions purely as an alternative to artificial dyes (like Red 40 or Titanium Dioxide). The brand chose carob because it mimics the natural dark brown aesthetic of a chocolate supplement without using synthetic chemicals. The physical volume of carob powder used to tint minuscule. It does not replace or dilute the highly concentrated cocoa extract inside.

Gradual but noticeable benefits over ~4 weeks (recovery, head rushes, digestion)
I started CocoaVia skeptical that cocoa flavanols would produce anything I could actually notice. After about 4 weeks of daily, consistent use, I’ve observed changes that feel both practical and repeatable. What I noticed: 1. Fewer “head rush” moments (especially with position changes). 2. Post-exercise recovery: my pulse and blood pressure seem to return to baseline faster - roughly ~20% less time than my usual pattern. 3. Digestion / inflammation-type symptoms: digestive irritation feels calmer, and flare-ups seem to resolve faster. Why I feel reasonably confident it wasn’t just a type of placebo effect: I kept the rest of my routine fairly stable while trying this, and I’m active enough that I have a consistent “baseline” for how my recovery usually feels. Also, this wasn’t an instant, dramatic effect. If anything, it ramped up gradually over weeks, which made it feel less like a day-one placebo effect and more like a slow, cumulative change. I also appreciate that cocoa flavanols have a strong scientific literature supporting cardiovascular-related effects, and my personal experience so far aligns with that directionally. Dose note: I’m taking about 15–20% above the label recommendation, mainly because I’m a larger person and train regularly. As always, if you have blood pressure issues, take medications, or are sensitive to supplements, it’s worth using common sense and checking with a clinician. Overall, this has been a worthwhile addition to my routine, and I plan to keep using it. Just be aware that it is an additive effect to healthy living and not some wonder food that solves all problems. The taste is very bitter. So I add honey or sugar to it and add it to my morning coffee.
