I've been happy with this router. In approx 6 months I've had to reboot it just once. The software is good with parental controls that are easy to use. The only fault I find is that there's not quite enough configurability around clients, multiple ssids, and time scheduling. This would be perfect if they had put a little more effort into that part of the software to allow fine-tuning. I know there's other firmwares available, but the stock firmware is already pretty close and it would be great to have it do everything I wanted right out of the box. It's been very reliable, and the sale price was really competitive. It doesn't require any subscriptions to be useful, and it even looks cool. I'm happy with my purchase.

I’m really happy with my ASUS RT-BE86U WiFI 7. Setting it up with my 2024 16” MacBook Pro was much easier than I thought it would be. I appreciate all of the security features. Plus there’s never a problem with the updates, which I love after having another company’s router. The stability has been very good. Any problems have come because of some of my outdated equipment and my internet provider. It has all of the capacity and ports I need, with a powerful signal for good range all over a hillside home. I like it so much, I’m buying another one for another larger home. I know it’ll work in that big 2-story home, since it covers 2-stories of this house and extends up to the garage, which is at the street level, above the house. It was a very good choice.

This router is incredible! All our devices that support wifi6 are hitting 900mbps+ transfer rates when on the same floor as the router. Reception is amazing on the other floors as well (averaging 300-600mbps). The setup was very quick and easy. I have not had a chance to play with all the configuration parameters however it does have all the features I need to limit and block websites on my kids’ devices. Overall, the web server configuration has a nice interface with lots of advanced features to ensure your network is secure yet super fast. Although this is not the least expensive router, you definitely get what you pay for in performance and value. Definitely a next generation wifi router compared to my old TP-Link Archer AX73 which was extremely unreliable.
