Install is easy if you have the right tools.
This item is exactly what we wanted. We chose black, because the dogs tend to think they are in their kennels. I would recommend using a power gun with a drill and phillips head attachment. Also, a level comes in hand to assure that the retractable fence doesn't flop over the top.

Great for Dogs
We had a really wide area to separate with a dog gate and were overwhelmed by the choices. We eventually settled on this one due to the look, height, and price point. The install was easy and the gate is sturdy. Haven't had any issues with it. It also has a little suction cup in the middle that keeps the gate down to the floor so my dog hasn't been able to get under it. We are very happy with it.

Not as expected
Pet was able to get through bottom of gate defeating purpose. If dog can- then crawling baby will be able to also. Very flimsy. Product has been returned.

Works great for our front porch!
Using this for our dog for the front porch! We bought extra clips that will allow us to reposition the gate to either include our door in it or put it separate if that makes sense. Some getting used to to retract it back in, usually takes me a time or two, it’s like a blind but going sideways.I like it, it does its job, he’s old so he will not even try to go under or over it. He could go under it if he wasn’t old and smart. 😂So if you have a smart dog they could slide under it to get out. I guess kids could too😂
