Turned my MacBook into a Karaoke machine!
I used this to connect a wireless microphone to my MacBook. Since the headphone jack on all Macs is designed for use with the Mac combined earphones / mic, just plugging in a standard mic won't work. With this little adapter I was able to connect the wireless receiver from my microphone to the Mac, then with a karaoke website and streaming the mac to apple TV, my TV including sound bar became a full feature karaoke machine. All for less than 10 bucks! Pretty good compared to getting a standalone machine for probably 100, plus then you've got to store it somewhere. I'm sure there are many other uses for this adapter, but this is what I got it for and it worked perfectly. Can't say the same for the singers, but that's another story.

MOKFON . . . is must buy product for recording in-game audio! Amazing sound quality!
Use this to record audio from 3DS for a game (i.e. Pokemon USUM or Super Smash Bros). No complaints. This is the real pick for any handheld gamers! The recording from in-game play is 100% and the playback on YT is exactly as what I would hear on the 3DS. They are not long nor short extension cable but just right! I love the silver metallic appearance and construction. Easy to store and use! FYI: I use my Android to record using an App and save. For video footage I use a camcorder in 720 HD or 1080 HD. This Headphone Y Splitter Mic and Audio is awesome! ♥

GOOD PRODUCT, BUT NOT WELL ENGINEERED
Specs vary slightly making it a tad tricky to plug in. Mine is sitting at the bottom of my 'spare stuff' drawer in studio.

Best value for this type of cable
I always research everything I buy on Amazon to get the best bang for my buck and when I needed one of these , this was it . I wasn't disappointed, it was as described and did what it was supposed to do, so I'm happy

Works well
I bought this to use my PC headset with my Xbox One controller. It works great. I've had it now for a few months and have had no issues. I've not treated it harshly though. The headset itself is quite expensive so I don't throw them around or let them sit anywhere. They are hung up and the adapter is rolled up with my cabling. I don't intend to test it's "durability" past the normal. It's plugged in and I'm playing an FPS. Under this condition it's been perfect.

Remember: use this for its intended purpos3
I bought this to record audio from an amplifier to my computer, however when I tried to use it for this purpose, it would not work. There might be some way to get it to work like this, but it obviously was not designed for this.

Great wire
I used this wire between my Lenovo laptop and headset and it worked great. It seems solid and not made cheaply. With this material/construction, it doesn't tangle. The only thing I don't like it sticks out about 1/8" from the socket with exposed metal. I know this could be a feature for people who has a casing around their smartphone. If it goes bad on me, I'll update this review.

Mac/Apple users, Do NOT BUY: Does not work for Macbook Pro!
This splitter probably works just fine with other devices, but do NOT buy it if you have a Mac. The product description is false, it simply does not have the right connection with the Apple headphone port. From an informational youtube video I learned that there are two types of TRRS jacks:CTIA Standard is used by Apple, the latest LG, the latest Samsung, most Android phones, Microsoft, etc.OMTP Standard is used by Nokia, old Samsung, Sony (Playstation Vita, OnePlus One, etc.)The difference is that the ring in the plug that takes in mic information is switched. This is why, no matter what I did, my Macbook Pro 2015 did not detect any external mic using the splitter. This splitter is probably a OMTP, and is not advertised to be so. Some clear disclaimers should be added!

Super cheap product, would not recommend
Bought to split the connection for headphones and a mic for my xbox controller. It does the job but quality and QC is severely lacking. At first I thought it was broken but turns out the terminations were labelled backwards. The cabling is extremely thin and cheap. you can actually roll the cable between you fingers and feel the inner wires separating. Does it function? Yes. Would I buy it again. Absolutely not. You're better of buying one from a reputable brand like Sennheiser etc.
