Al-Asas for Teaching Arabic for Non-Native Speakers of different nationalities uses modern and advanced educational techniques to provide students with a core understanding of the Arabic language and its proper usage. The series consists of three volumes that guide students from one level to the next in a gradual and logical fashion. The series is unique in that it approaches grammatical issues from a functional angle.Volume I: The Beginner Level starts with the alphabet and its phonetics and advances to 10 lessons that address everyday issues that would help students gradually integrate into society. It has nine appendices and comes with an audio MP3 CD (8 hours and a half). Review: Five Stars - Excellent Review: It builds up your Arabic language Step by step - I'm an Arabic language teacher and have been desperately looking for a complete set of Arabic Language for non-native speakers book. I have tried different books to teach my students Arabic, but everytime I used any book I found something missing. Either the book I used was not organized or lack a lot of skills that are basic and important to beginners specifically. Until I found Al-Asas book, which means The Foundation. It does build a solid foundation. The book is also inviting to learners. You don't feel it is stuffing a bunch of language points in one page or even unit. It really builds up the skills. You apply what you learn before to what's coming after. It has many pages to practice. I didn't know there is a newer, revised and updated edition that is colored too. I bought that one too to check it out and post my review on it as soon as I check it. If you are like me have been looking for almost to a perfect Arabic for non-native book, this is it. Highly recommend and it is definitely worth your money.
