We rescued nine new born puppies found abandoned under a vacant house. Far from being able eat on their own we went to a local vet for advise on how to deal with these wonderful nine babies. The vet tech recommended Esbilac which had to be mixed in water and administered every four hours by baby bottles with split nipples. Needing to feed the babies immediately we went to a local pet store and bought all they had which was very expensive. The puppies loved it and as we understand it this is a synthetic replacement for mothers milk. Esbilac is easy to use and mixes well in warm water and as I mentioned the puppies loved it. As always, I checked Amazon to determine availability and cost. I was amazed! Amazon had the exact same product for half the cost as PETSMART and PETCO. Since I am a Amazon Prime member there was no shipping costs and I had all the Esbilac we would need in just two days. Of course we returned the unused powder we purchased from the local pet stores. At the direction of the local vet, when the puppies started developing teeth we allowed puppy chow to soften in the Esbilac before being offered it to the growing puppies. They gobbled it down. As they got a little older we cut back on the Esbilac mixture until the babies were old enough to eat straight puppy chow. Esbilac greatly enhanced the transition of these puppies from being bottle fed to eating totally on their own. Without Esbilac these puppies would not have survived. Amazon's quick delivery and deep discounts made the rescue of these puppies economically a lot easier. The good news is, Esbilac and Amazon allowed these puppies grow to be healthy and happy and good homes were found for all nine.

Fantastic! Used to use this stuff to rehab wildlife! They all loved it - possums, racoons, you name it! Highly recommend it! Also worked great for lambs, kids (goats), and calves when needed.

This is a staple at my house as I raise Scottish Terriers. I not only use it when a mommy is low on milk though, it also helps me get the puppies to start eating dog food. At about 3 weeks old, I start mixing this with warm water then pouring it on their food. The warm milky food then turns into a puppy magnet and helps greatly to get them started on solid food. For a long time I had mixed results with just putting water on the dry food, this makes a huge difference and even if they just drink the liquid at first they are getting some supplement to help at this high growth developmental stage. AT 3 weeks they are about a pound and a half but when they start eating this they grow really fast and are getting around 4 pound in the 3 weeks I add it to their food. That's almost tripling in weight in 3 weeks!! I swear by Esbilac, it is high quality. I feel like when I get it at Amazon it is fresher than ones sitting on the shelf at Petsmart for weeks or years. I trust it because it is made in the USA.

It's been a wonderful product for my puppies. They didn't seem to like it as much when they were 3 weeks old feeding it them in a bottle but once they started eatting puppy food at about 5 weeks they seemed to really like the milk added to their puppy food. I would soak the puppy food in water that I added the milk powder to so the puppies had more vitamins & nutrients in their food. My only complaint is that the product came with NO clear lid. It had the tab you pull to open the can and once it was open I had to keep putting saran wrap on. But it's a good product.

My dog seems to love the taste. Maybe it reminds her of her own mother's milk. Her puppies will also drink but it is hard to feed them since they struggle a lot. I already bought a second can. It is a lot cheaper than Walmart. Updates: Buying the third can and should be here tomorrow. I have twelve Great Dane puppies and some of them are not getting enough from the mother. On the 2nd week she is not as keen like the first time to get back to her puppies and trying to find an off time. Sometimes I isolated the smallest puppies that are not getting enough milk in a different area so that bigger puppies couldn't push them away. You have to check them everyday and monitor their tummies. That's where the milk replacement comes in. I also feed the mother to ensure she would produce enough milk for her puppies. I mix Glucosamine pills that I crush into the mix since my dog needs to have strong bones especially after giving birth and nursing. I will spay her next time.

I purchased this in a pet store and paid over $25 for the smaller cans and $58 for the larger can. Then found it on amazon for the larger can at pet store smaller can price! Definitely a good value here, and worked very well for bottle feeding my rescued baby gray and flying squirrels. (But if you are using for Squirrels, you need to add a bit of heavy cream in with each feeding, as they require more fat. All the squirrlies love it!

It’s a good milk powder. Contents are impressive and my puppy loved it. A good choice indeed.

I use this product as an immunity booster for my dogs of all ages and in particular when they are convalescing. Not suitable for dogs with kidney failure. They would not drink it.

Ich nutze Esbilac Welpennahrung schon seit Jahren für die Aufzucht mutterloser Igelwelpen. Diverse Aufzuchtnahrung habe ich schon versucht. Esbilac schlägt sie um Längen. Bei anderen Ersatznahrungen waren die Babys immer noch hungrig oder sehr schnell wieder hungrig. Folglich herrschte immer eine gewisse Unruhe bei den Kleinen. Mit Esbilac waren sie satt und schliefen viel ruhiger. Sie wuchsen immer gut auf und entwickelten sich zu propperen Jungigeln. Ich kann diese Aufzuchtnahrung nur empfehlen! Auchwenn es andere Päppler anders sehen. Für mich gibts nichts Besseres.
