Setup is easier plugged in.
Read through the instructions carefully before you begin the setup…they’re clear but very terse. Even if you will be using the device on battery power, during setup you’ll find the screen brighter and easier to read while plugged in. The temperature shown on screen may not initially agree with what you see on the sensor. I went through setup three or four times, assuming the readings should be identical. It appears that the remote updates the master periodically and that the temperature on the master may be a running average. After setup and installation of the sensor outside the house, the two agreed exactly when I compared them an hour later. Some warnings IN BOLD in the documentation would have spared some headaches.

Works ok. Have to occasionally re-pair remotes.
Works mostly fine. Difficult to find additional remotes for this particular model. 4 stars because of the occasional pairing issue.

Good value, easy to use
Easy to use and the instructions well written and organized. Not the fanciest or feature filled but a good basic value

Weather or not
display is colorful and concise, telling me all I need to know. But I would like the backlight to remain on when just using batteries.
