I bought a 5.4 cu ft Samsung washer, brand new, about five years ago. From the minute we plugged it in and ran the first load, it was constantly erroring out and reporting "Ub" - Unbalanced Load. I hated this thing. We went online, called the Geek Squad, and spent LITERALLY dozens of hours trying to level this washing machine. Nothing, nada, zip. Complete fail. So, after years of being a hostage to laundry, I threw in the towel and went to go and buy a new washing machine. While I'm at the store, I'm chatting with another guy in the same predicament, and he shows me his phone with the upgraded suspension rods that I'm reviewing. I don't know if you've ever given up hope. I had, but something inside me just couldn't resist that one... last... idea... I asked him to share the link and he Did. I read a couple of reviews and watched a YouTube video with a guy (substantially less mechanically inclined than me) who got this fix done in an hour. So I gave it a shot. I ordered the suspension kit from the store instead of buying a new washer and returned home to tell my wife. She looked at me with pure disgust - causing me to question my decision, but that all changed the next day. Prime had the new rods in my hands the next day, around 4:00. I gathered up a few tools (a drill with a Phillips bit, a tiny screwdriver, a channel lock for the hoses, and a little cup to hold screws) and happily dismantled the dreaded machine. I'll tell you what - I had the machine apart in about 10 minutes. It took about 10 minutes to remove and replace all four rods, and another 10 to put the washing machine back together. We plugged it in, turned on the water, and we haven't had a single error, thump, thud, or anything resembling an unbalanced load error since. Super easy, built like they should have been from the jump, and fit perfectly - replacing the trash that Samsung built into their crap washers at the factory. My theory is that when they decided to offer a 5.4 cu ft washer, they used suspension components from 4.5s that they had on hand. I'm sure they tested fine during engineering, but if they ever washed a comforter, or a couple of towels, and some dog diapers, they'd have seen the error in the design. Anyway, the size and the weight of the rods alone tell the story, these will outlast the machine itself. They are a perfect fit as a replacement to the OE compnents and you can put an end to your laundry woes in under an hour, the only reason NOT to do this is, well... I can't think of one. Make your life better by fixing your stupid Samsung Top Loader with this awesome fix. Trust me on this one, totally worth it.

I needed to replace these, watched a few videos on YouTube to figure out how and bought these. The repair man who posted the video urged to buy OEM or Samsung parts due to quality but I found that these were good and my washer has no shaking after installing. I will say that the back corner is tough due to the waterline wrapped around. You have to take off several panels first and detach it before you can tackle the corner. It’s tedious, but not overly difficult. Just organize your screws and wear a pair of gloves and also have something to prop up the lid because you will need clearance, light and to make you sure you don’t damage the electrical cords attached to the washer. I used a broom handle wedged against my wall and that worked great. If you’ve got a head lamp, even better, but a phone light will work. These come pre greased so you don’t need to add anything, just install right out of the box. I would also wear long sleeves because the sides of the washer are sharp and you’ll want to protect your forearms.

Oh man... I was afraid I was looking at a large repair bill from a house call technician, or the increasingly sad story of "You're better off buying a new washer than trying to fix yours." Thanks to the prevalence of YouTube videos walking me through how to fix things, these suspension rods were a snap to fix. The size was perfectly compatible, they seem durable, I was thrilled with the price (compared to a house call), they function as designed, and the washer now works as it should. If you have a modicum of "fixing skills," and want to save a considerable amount of money, buy these and watch a video or two on YouTube.

This is a review after a week of use: Machine would bang around and I got the “ub” code for un balance. This was happening every wash even if just a few shirts. It would never finish washing. These were an easy repair, only a few screws and a couple of easy plugs. I would wear some rubber gloves because the grease on the old ones is very sticky and doesn’t come off easily, and I work on cars for a living. After the springs were on, washed a few loads and so far no banging so I’m sure this solved my issues. Machine was only about 5 or 6 years old.

Perfect fit. Super easy to replace. Samsung did something right with this design. I had the old ones out and the new ones installed in under 15 minutes. Took longer to remove the top of the washer. Functioned as expect and restored operation to normal. 100% compatible. Appeared slightly different, but the springs were stiffer than the old. Durability will be determined over time.

Cramped laundry space makes it trickier, and if you're doing this for the first time, finding a YouTube video specific to your model before you start is highly recommended. Budget about an hour, go in with realistic expectations, and you'll be fine. A couple of practical tips worth passing along: wear gloves. The factory grease on the old rods is aggressively sticky and not something you want on your hands or anything else. Also worth grabbing some dampening grease separately to apply to the new rods — several reviewers have noted it helps prevent squeaking down the road. The rods themselves feel solid and sturdy — stainless steel construction that honestly feels more robust than the originals. Washer runs smoothly and quietly after install. For the price savings alone, a very easy recommendation.

These are exactly the right size and compatibility for my specific model Samsung washer. Prior to installation, like so many other reviewers, I was plagued with the constant battle trying to balance my laundry...until I found out what the problem was. And what I discovered was that 3 of my 4 OEM suspension rods were shot. No wonder it wouldn't balance. Installation of the replacements was fairly simple, and didn't take very long. I had watched a Youtube content creator's video...and I recommend doing so. The end result was that my washer is now working perfectly again...and quietly. The only reason I'm giving them a 4-star rating is because they've only been in use for one month. Thus, I can't yet rate their durability. That said, I think they're a good value and my wife and I are quite happy to have our washer back in service.

Installed very easily and so far washer is working great

M samsung washing machine was unable to perform the last spin. I search on internet what could be the reason. I recalibrate the machine and it still failed the last spin leaving the clothes wet. I saw a YouTube video where the guy recommended to change the spring shafts that hold the drum. I followed the steps and changed the 4 shafts. Then I recalibrated the washing machine before washing four loads of clothes. With 90 dollars and 45 mins for removing the top cover and change the 4 shafts, I was able to fix my washing machine

Installed these in less than 20mins and fixed my washers knocking problem it had even with small loads. Hopefully this buys me another 10 years with this thing.
