My mother (who has passed) was an avid sewer. I wanted to do this as a tribute to her & her "Sewing Room". I had SO much fun! The things that are included are just so adorable! I added many of my own personal touches. Little scissors (dozens of them all around the sewing room!) a pin cushion (definitely NOT to scale! LOL), and jars of buttons! Buttons, buttons, everywhere! I changed the fabric to be more meaningful to ME, and just had SO much fun with this kit!!! I did use the lighting system that came with the kit, which I rarely do. I most definitely recommend this kit. Directions were very clear, Parts are sturdy and fit very well together. Very nicely priced. Much nicer quality than many with much higher prices!

This is not a kit you just cut out and assemble, but if you’re looking to work with a wide range of materials and use different DIY skills, this is for you!Painting the wooden parts was the most time consuming part of it, but it IS worth it! Suggest you paint the pieces first before gluing them together.Electrical is not too hard, but wires are fragile. Working with cloth and making paper flowers and furniture was fun, a little of everything!

I absolutely loved making this kit. I love how you need to make everything yourself...it's so rewarding when it's all done knowing you created it all. I thought the instructions were pretty good, the wiring instructions could use some work, especially if your a newcomer to making these kits. The only negative was the wires using in the lighting. The wires are so thin and fragile, so be very careful when trying to remove the rubber to get a better seal when attaching to the battery box or you'll cut the wire, and they don't leave a lot of excess wire, and you don't want the wire too short. All in all, this was one of my favorite kits to build, and I buy all kits from name brand $$$ to lesser known cheaper brands.

Making the tailor shop with my 17-yr old daughter. Tons of tiny little pieces - so you should have patience and like detailed miniature work. Im attaching a photo of some of the pieces we’ve put together so far. You make every piece of these. We delight in everything we make. Nothing plastic. All of it is just lovely and highly satisfying. I would recommend gathering all the following: small precision scissors; xacto knife, bent nose precision tweezers, a good small paintbrush (the one included is pretty bad), straight edge small ruler with cm markings, pliers (optional) MOST important is glue. I like a combo of a mini hot glue gun and Bearly Precision craft glue. I use the finest, precision tip. Enjoy!

This is exactly what I was looking for in a miniature! The instructions can be slightly confusing at times but the images make it fairly easy to follow. I loved getting to make all of the little objects on my own and not just being given stickers or something. The only issue I had was with the battery pack, the instructions indicate that you need 1cm of wire exposed to connect to the lighting but it only comes with 2-3cm exposed and every time I tried to cut the protective cover to expose the wire I ended up cutting the wire as well. I used tacky glue (which is not included) and it has held up well. Would definitely recommend this if you are new to miniatures like me!
