Product Description The classic pascal silhouette by Dr. Martens — 8 eyes and grooved edges with an air-cushioned sole — gets a springy update, in a flower-child daisy print on lightweight canvas called meadow. Dr. Martens is the stuff of legends. It all began near Munich, Germany in 1945 when Dr. Klaus Maertens injured his foot in a skiing accident in the Bavarian Alps. To make walking easier during the healing process, he designed a shoe with an air-cushioned sole. Using old rubber tires, he constructed soles that had air trapped within closed compartments. He showed his prototype to his engineer/inventor friend, Dr. Herbert Funck, and together they decided to develop and produce the shoes. Not only did the shoe solve the doctor's immediate problem, but it also started to sell well in Germany. By 1959 the two decided that they needed a company to produce and distribute the shoes, then called Dr. Maertens, in other parts of the world. At first, many manufacturers rejected the concept of an air cushioned sole as a short-lived gimmick. However, the R. Griggs Group, located in the village of Wollaston in England, decided to go along with the idea by creating the first work boot with the revolutionary sole. On the first of April 1960, the first cherry red eight-eyelet work boot was produced and named 1460. To sell the brand name better in England, the name was anglicized to Dr. Martens. The range was branded AirWair and the rest is history.

Cute Pink Flowers
So cute!! Definitely need to be broken in. I had to return cause they run big. I normally wear a 9.5 or 10. I bought the 10 and they were to big. I reordered the 9 and they fit perfectly. I ordered the black and pink flower ones.

Happy flower feet!
Always been a Doc Martens fan. I able to fit my arch supporting orthotic and the boots feel like walking in heaven. Lighter weight since the material is canvas and not leather but quite stiff. We are in the middle of winter in the Midwest but I see flowers on my feet and it makes me happy. Received several compliments and they can't believe they are Docs!

Tricky sizing and tough to break in, but sturdy and worth the hassle overall!
The pink, size 9 version of these I tried first ended up being WAY too big for me, sadly. I normally wear anywhere between an 8.5 and a 9, so I went for the bigger size and hoped for the best. I was SWIMMING in the first pair. I ended up returning them and opting for an 8 in this design, and they fit perfectly. They are comfortable on my feet and (will eventually) be perfect for walking across campus.That being said, regardless of the size issue, these aren't bad shoes! My only complaint thus far is that these are so sturdy and stiff that breaking them in has been a trial. I have huge blisters on my heels from wearing them with just socks the first day. I ended up picking up some Band-Aid brand blister pads and some cushions for the heel, which has helped IMMENSELY. I think these boots will hold up for a long, long time, and once I break them in, they're going to serve me well for years to come..As an aside, I get TONS of compliments on these. No fewer than 10 separate people mentioned how much they liked them the first day I wore them.

Super cute. Comfy. Beautiful flowers. I really like the canvas material as well. I size down with Dr. Martens. I'm usually a 10. Ordered a 9 and they're perfect.

So comfortable and I get compliments when I wear them.I am buying a second pair because I have worn them out.I work in construction and want to express my girly side.They are so comfortable that I wore them throughout my Ireland vacation in November. Kept my feet warm and dry.

Magnifique, confortable mais taille un peu grand
Elles sont très belles mais faites attention, les Dr Martens taille souvent un peu grand, j'ai pris du 42 alors que je fais du 43 voire 44 des fois.Très confortable, mais il faut porter de grosses chaussettes ou mettre le jean dedans sinon le tissu peut frotter un peu et ça peut vite devenir inconfortable.Très satisfaite de mon achat !
